A new Snapdragon 8 Series chipset to arrive soon
The leaked info gives us the tech specs scoop – a 2.9GHz ARM Cortex X4 core and an Adreno 735 GPU. The tipster also claims a solid AnTuTu score of over 1.7 million. If this holds, it means the SM8635 could outshine the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in raw performance.
Roland Quandt, another reliable leaker, stated that Qualcomm has two similar chips in the works – the SM8635 and the SM7675. This raises questions about where exactly the SM8635 fits in the Snapdragon lineup.
The SM7675 model is said to be the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 dubbed the most powerful in the Snapdragon 7 series by Digital Chat Station. Now, the confusion deepens about where the SM8635 stands in the grand scheme of things. The CPU score for Snapdragon is 702,689 while Dimensity 9400 scores higher at 786,574. In graphics power, Snapdragon lags with a score of 1,330,057 whereas Dimensity 9400 hits 1,422,243. This trend continues in memory and user experience scores. Overall, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s total performance is 3,133,570 but Dimensity 9400 does better with a score of 3,449,366.
