Adele shared in a new video that she proudly displays Céline Dion’s chewed gum in her home. The singer was recently interviewed for Vogue’s “73 Questions” series – though she actually answered 95, the sum of her four numeral album titles, “19,” “21,” “25,” and the upcoming “30.”
When asked about her “proudest possession,” she replied, “It’s actually inside. Let’s go in.”
Adele revealed a framed scrap of paper with the words “Céline Dion’s Gum” written on it and a beige wad in the center after leading the interviewer to her dining room table.
“James Corden, who’s a friend of mine but also does ‘Carpool Karaoke,’ which I did — he did it with [Dion] and knew how much a fan of her I was, and so he made her spit her gum into a piece of paper, and he framed it for me,” she explained, describing the gift as “pretty amazing.”
Adele appeared on “The Late Late Show” for a “Carpool Karaoke” segment in 2016, shortly after releasing her third album, “25.” Dion sang her own classics with Corden in the car in 2019, including “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” and “Lying Down.”
The pop divas crossed paths backstage at one of Dion’s 2018 performances.
“I had a pretty rough time during the last couple of weeks…a lot of people have been hit with cold and flu bugs… but I’m doing much better now,” Dion wrote on Instagram. “Wasn’t able to do all my shows, but was thrilled that Adele came to one of them…. I love her so much!!”
Adele even donned a sweater featuring Dion’s face for the event, which she documented via an Instagram post.
“Queen Celine! What a show, an absolute highlight of my life; thank you so much for the attention to your crowd and insane humor,” she added a caption to the image.
