Apple is expected to announce AI-generative features for its product lineup. Samsung is also expected to bring several AI features to its upcoming Galaxy S24 series, which launches on January 17.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports in his ‘Power On’ newsletter that we could see Apple announce generative AI-based tools for its products at the WWDC 2024.
Apple’s Generative AI Features for iPhone at WWDC 2024
According to the latest information from Gurman, Apple is planning to take a big leap in AI in 2024 with a series of generative AI-based tools for iPhone and other products. The Bloomberg report states that the company will introduce these features with iOS 18 update.
Apple will add several AI-backed features like auto-summarising, auto-complete for apps, and AI integration in Apple Music. The company will also reportedly introduce new AI-based developer tools.
Gurman also reports that Apple has been working on a proprietary Large Language Model (LLM) called Ajax since early 2023. The LLM is mainly being developed to introduce AI features to Macs and iPhones and to seamlessly merge AI into its services like Apple Music, core apps, Siri, and more. However, Apple might opt for a gradual rollout with the features, which is not surprising given Cupertino’s cautious approach when rolling out new technology.
