Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup is said to launch on January 17, 2024. The company is looking to bring new AI technology and more features to the 2024 lineup.
Galaxy S24 will support emergency SMS via satellite connectivity
According to some sources, the next Galaxy S24 could boast support for sending text messages thanks to connectivity satellite.
As per the leaked screenshot from the Galaxy S24, Samsung will bring the “Emergency SMS via satellite” on the upcoming S24 lineup. According to reports, if you call 911 without cellular coverage, Samsung will connect the device to a satellite network so you can send an emergency message.
It should therefore be a function similar to the one available on Apple devices, which allows you to send your position via SMS to rescue teams using satellite connectivity.
The 5G NTN technology developed by the company meets the standards defined by 3GPP (version 17), offering two-way satellite communication and could therefore be implemented on the next Galaxy S24.
The functionality is presumed to be available for both devices with Exynos and Snapdragon chips, although it is initially plausible that it could only be limited to some markets, to expand later over time.
