General Motors has officially launched a new car service “uServices”, aiming to provide developers with the necessary APIs to develop car apps and achieve API standardization.

As per the latest report, uServices is General Motors’ unique API designed for developers “interested in building scalable software that can run across multiple vehicles. ”
In addition, General Motors plans to promote uServices as part of the Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance (COVESA) in order to accelerate innovation in connected vehicle systems.
Frank Ghenassia, executive chief architect of GM’s “software-defined vehicle”, said that GM hopes to accelerate the development of the ecosystem by sharing existing production technology and integrate third-party software at lower engineering costs.
