Google is working hard on features related to travel users. Allowing users to share boarding passes and events on Google Wallet with anyone through a special custom link.
Well, it seems that the Mountain View giant has other projects it is working on to make life easier for travellers, such as a new solution designed for Google Chrome.
A convenient new feature for Google Chrome on Android
The Google Chrome developer team has added a flag to the canary version of the browser (i.e. chrome://flags#boarding-pass-detector ), which clearly indicates the company’s intention to automate information recovery relating to boarding passes.
According to what we can learn, this function should be based on the use of a predetermined list of URLs of the various airlines, in order to check if there is data relating to a boarding pass in an open tab.
Such a system could also go beyond airlines, so that users who have tickets for travel by bus, train and other public transport can also benefit.
At the moment it is not clear what would happen if Google detected this data but it will almost certainly have to do with Google Wallet (just to give an example, once the system detects the boarding pass data, it could add it to a personalized boarding pass in Google Wallet).
