The Google app has received some new features such as a new look for the settings and a new general design. In the last few hours Big G, with the release of the latest beta version of the Google app (14.48.26.29.arm64) has introduced a change regarding the search bar.
The Google app search bar moves down to be easier to reach
Some of you will remember how at the beginning of the year, in March, the company made some changes to the search bar of the Google app , making it larger than the previous one. Now it seems that the company has decided to test a further change for this important component of the interface, modifying its default position.
In the latest beta version of the app the search bar has been moved to the bottom of the screen, the change applies both to the main search bar of the Google app and to the search bar that we see in the search results, as you can see from the images below.
Although there is no official information on the matter, it is clear that the test of the modification in question has the aim of simplifying the user experience of all those who own a generously sized smartphone, so as not to force the user to jump through hoops with your thumb to reach the top of the screen.
What’s new
• Use voice commands while navigating – even when your device has no connection. Try saying “cancel my navigation” “what’s my ETA?” or “what’s my next turn?”.
• It’s easier to access privacy settings from the homescreen. Just tap your Google Account profile picture.
