Meet Britney Spears’ New Financial Manager, John Zabel

Jamie Spears is out after 13 years at the helm of his daughter Britney Spears’ contentious conservatorship. A judge ruled Wednesday that he be immediately suspended from his duty as conservator. The ruling comes after Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, made three different requests to remove Jamie as the pop star’s conservator since July.

As one man leaves, another steps in to take his place. However, the pop singer has some influence on who is in command this time.

On Wednesday, Judge Brenda Penny designated John Zabel, a California-based expert, as the estate’s temporary conservator. Rosengart first proposed that Los Angeles-based accountant Jason Rubin as Jamie’s replacement in July but dropped Rubin’s nomination last week in favor of Zabel.

Britney Spears’ father has objected to Mathew Rosengart’s attempt to designate John Zabel as the singer’s temporary conservator. Jamie Spears’ legal team also argued that Zabel is not a ‘qualified fiduciary’ and lacks the necessary expertise and competence to assume immediate and temporary control of a ‘USD 60 million conservatorship estate. Additionally, they stated that Britney’s team had not provided sufficient information regarding the possibility of ‘Mr. Zabel being bonded.’
