Oneplus smartphone company is getting ready to launch a new foldable phone. The beloved OnePlus brand is coming closer to joining the competition in the market. Currently, the company faced several negative reviews around the world for not providing firmware support and the South Korean tech giant Samsung still continues its position in the firmware rollout. OnePlus OxygenOS launcher lost its presence in the market with Oppo’s ColorOS performance.
OnePlus Foldable Phone: Specifications [Rumored]
The company is developing its first foldable phone. Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t have an official name. It is said that the OnePlus foldable phone will be called the “OnePlus V Fold” or “OnePlus Open.” The South Korean tech giant Samsung is looking to launch the new Galaxy Z Fold 5 foldable phone on July 26, the OnePlus Open will reportedly become official in August.
Recently, fan-made renders showcased that the OnePlus foldable phone will come with flat edges and slim bezels. The hinge will be completely flat, with no gaps between the two folding halves of the phone.
OnePlus already confirmed that its first folding phone will arrive this year at MWC 2023. So, it is just a matter of time before the product goes official. As per the latest leak, the device could launch at an event in New York City in the first half of August. The company typically holds an event in NY for its major device launches.
Under the hood, the upcoming OnePlus foldable smartphone to launch with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. According to the rumoured specifications, the OnePlus first foldable device to come with a 6.3-inch OLED cover screen and a 7.8-inch 2K foldable OLED. The company will launch this device with 120Hz refresh rates.
In the camera department, the foldable OnePlus phone comes with a 48MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 64MP telephoto camera. For selfies, the OnePlus device will come with a 32MP selfie shooter and a 20MP selfie unit in the upper-left corner of the foldable panel.
