The development team of the Google Messages working on the new features with the aim of making this product increasingly complete and pleasant to use, confirming the fact that it is among those that the Mountain View giant cares about in a particular way.
The background for Google Messages RCS chats
The background for Google Messages RCS chats is now made up of overlapping circles or bubbles and it seems that the Dynamic Color functionality is also used, with a rather evident effect when the smartphone uses a light theme and a little more discreet in dark mode.
There are various ways that Google Messages can handle this new feature, such as syncing your background with the other person in the conversation.
Other new features of this interface include the prompt in the compose field and the badge above the user avatars in the conversation list.
At the moment it is not clear how widespread the availability of this new feature is, which appears to still be in the testing phase. There is no information, therefore, on when it could be made available to all users through its implementation in a stable version of the app.
Official Description
Google Messages is the official Google app for messaging over Rich Communication Services (RCS) with fallback to SMS/MMS. Get more done in your messages with one-tap calendar reminders and emoji replies, and keep your conversations secure with spam protection and end-to-end encryption so you can focus on connecting with the people and businesses you care about — no matter what device they use.
Know when friends are typing or when they’ve read your message, share high-resolution images and videos, easily add people to a group chat, and experience an all-around richer messaging experience.
End-to-end encryption secures your eligible communications, so no one (including Google and third parties) can read or view your messages and attachments except the person you’re messaging.
