As per the latest report from Omdia, Samsung dominated the global TV market in 2023 with a 30.1% share. The success can be largely attributed to the company’s strategic focus on premium and large-screen TVs as well as the broad Neo QLED, QLED and OLED portfolio. Since its launch in 2017, a total of over 40 million Samsung Neo QLED and QLED TVs have been sold. In 2023 alone, the Neo QLED and QLED product series achieved sensational sales of 8.31 million devices.
Key Statement
“We are very proud to be the market leader in the global TV sector for 18 consecutive years, as it is a great testament to our customers’ trust in the Samsung brand,” said Mike Henkelmann, Director of Marketing Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics. “We would like to continue to drive forward the development of the industry in the future and offer our customers well-thought-out and meaningful user experiences that go beyond brilliant image quality.”
Samsung was able to assert itself particularly in the premium TV sector last year and recorded an impressive market share of 60.5% in sales of televisions over $2,500 and a sales share of 33.9% in TVs over 75 inches.
At CES 2024, Samsung started the new year with the motto “AI for All”. The motto is brought to life by, among other things, the NQ8 AI Gen3, Samsung’s most powerful processor to date, which will be installed in the 2024 Neo QLED 8K series. Samsung relies on a technology-open approach and smart AI features that are aimed at sustainably simplifying and improving the home entertainment experience for users.
