Samsung has now confirmed that it is expanding the target models and countries for its ‘self-repair program’, which allows consumers to repair their own products.
The self-repair program is a method that allows you to purchase the necessary parts and repair tools online and repair the product yourself instead of visiting a service center to repair the product.
Models
Samsung introduced the ‘Self-Repair Program’ for the first time in Korea last May, providing the ability to purchase parts and repair tools needed to repair Galaxy S20, S21, S22 series and Galaxy Book Pro 39.6cm series laptops. Starting on the 20th, foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE smartphone, Galaxy Tab S9 series, Tab A9+ tablet, Galaxy Book 2 Pro (39.6cm), Book 2 Pro will be available. The target models will be sequentially expanded to include 360 (39.6cm) laptops.
Since introducing the self-repair program in the United States in August last year, Samsung Electronics has expanded it to Korea, 9 European countries (UK, Germany, France, Italy, etc.), and 2 Central and South American countries (Brazil, Mexico). It will also be introduced in 30 additional countries (Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, etc.).
Consumers who wish to self-repair can check repair manuals and videos for each part on the Samsung Electronics Service website. Additionally, after replacing a part, you can use the ‘self-repair assistant app’ to optimize the new part to function properly. Afterwards, you can check for any abnormalities in the repair results through the self-diagnosis function of the ‘Samsung Members App’.
