Samsung may return to using a metal frame on two of its next mid-range smartphones: we are talking about Samsung Galaxy A55 and Samsung Galaxy A35. The South Korean tech giant is expected to launch these devices in January 2024.
Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35 to have metal frames
The plastic frame is not exactly a “premium” device: we are still talking about smartphones from the Galaxy A range, but the selling prices of the A5* and A3* series are not among the lowest in this range.
According to the reliable tipster Revegnus, the two smartphones will switch from plastic to metal, a detail that would give them a more premium appearance overall. This would be a positive change for the two products, always hoping that this does not increase the final price.
The recently leaked renderings of the Galaxy A35 have already shown an appearance even more in line with the flagship models (with the necessary distinctions, of course), with a hole for the front camera (instead of the waterdrop notch).
As per the leaked info, both devices are expected to offer an Exynos 1480 SoC, supported by 8GB of RAM. In terms of software support, both should come out with Android 14 and One UI 6 and reach at least up to Android 18.
In terms of render, the Samsung Galaxy A55 is seen with a boxy form factor. We can notice a protrusion on the right frame where the power and volume rocker buttons are located. The back panel of the device has three vertically stacked triple rear cameras.
The bottom port of the Samsung Galaxy A55 has a USB-C port and a speaker grille. There is a SIM card tray on the top edge. The renders do not reveal a 3.5mm jack.
On the front, the smartphone has a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout display measuring 6.5 inches. The screen is surrounded by thin bezels. Dimension-wise, the Galaxy A55 will measure 161.1 x 77.3 / 77.9 x 8.2mm. The Galaxy A55 is seen in a Black color option.
