Some Samsung Galaxy smartphones seem to have some problems with Google Play system updates, stuck at an old version. The South Korean manufacturer has updated practically its entire range of compatible products to Android 14 and One UI 6.0 and sometimes releases security patches even earlier than Big G, but as far as Google Play updates are concerned, there seems to be something that it does not work.
Some smartphones appear to have blocked Google Play system updates
Android smartphones are updated mainly in three ways: alongside the operating system updates and monthly security patches, we find the Google Play system updates, released by the Mountain View company also for tablets, Android TV devices and Google TV, wearables with Wear OS, computers with Chrome OS and more. Every month they integrate improvements and fixes mainly “under the hood”, and are useful for maintaining security and taking advantage of the latest features designed by Google.
According to reports, some smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy S23+, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S21 and Galaxy A53 5G are “blocked” to Google Play system updates from months ago, despite being updated to Android 14 with One UI 6 and December/November 2023 security patches. This despite attempts to search for updates within the settings: to check just go to ” Settings > About phone > Software information > Update Google Play system .”
