Fuchsia is now receiving the new December 2023 update. The new operating system for the Nest Hub series devices, now at version 14; some of you will remember how the devices in question were originally powered by the “Cast OS” system, the same used by the original Chromecast dongles and Home speakers, later replaced by Fuchsia.
The official website of the new operating system offers us a detailed overview of all the new features implemented by each new update. Let’s take a look together.
Fuchsia 14 gets a preview on Nest Hub devices
As per the latest information, it gets a new version Fuchsia 14.20230831.4.72, which has been available for a few hours for users registered in the preview program; to access the Preview Program simply open the Google Home app, go to the Devices section, select Nest Hub and tap the gear icon in the top right corner to view the settings, once you reach the page dedicated to Information on the device, simply register the device to the preview program.
Let’s start by saying that most of the new features implemented concern developers, but there are still some improvements aimed at users: first of all, Fuchsia 14 brings some improvements to Matter support, including the new “transition time management” that will be used when the user asks to change the color of a smart light.
A problem widely reported by the user community is also resolved, relating to false presence alarms in night mode, a bug that caused routines set by the user to start without any reason.
