Lobster Diver Swallowed by Humpback Whale off the Coast of Provincetown
Michael Packard, 56, a licensed commercial lobster diver, entered the ocean shortly after 8 a.m. Friday for his second dive of the day. His yacht was off the coast of Herring Cove Beach, surrounded by a flotilla of boats after striped bass.
Packard plunged to the bottom and noticed schools of sand lances and stripers swimming by. The ocean food chain was clearly visible, but approximately ten feet below the surface, Packard saw firsthand what it was like to be a part of it.
Packard was devoured whole by a humpback whale in a genuine biblical moment.
“All of a sudden, I felt this huge shove and the next thing I knew it was completely black,” Packard recalled Friday afternoon following his release from Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. “I could sense I was moving, and I could feel the whale squeezing with the muscles in his mouth.”
Packard initially believed he was inside a big white shark, but he did not feel any teeth and had no visible wounds. He soon realized he’d been devoured by a whale.
“I was completely inside; it was completely black,” Packard said. “I thought to myself, ‘there’s no way I’m getting out of here. I’m done, I’m dead.’ All I could think of was my boys — they’re 12 and 15 years old.”
He struggled with his scuba gear, and the whale began shaking its head, signaling to Packard that the whale is uncomfortable. He estimated that he was inside the whale for between 30 and 40 seconds until it surfaced.
“I saw light, and he started throwing his head side to side, and the next thing I knew I was outside (in the water),” said Packard.
Cynthia Packard, Packard’s sister, spoke with crewmember Josiah Mayo, who told her some details. Packard stated that Mayo initially believed the whale was a great white shark when it burst to the surface.
“There was a lot of activity on the surface of the water,” Packard reported Mayo telling her. The whale then spit her brother out to the sea. Mayo snatched him up, radioed shore, and immediately returned to the Provincetown pier. He was escorted to Cape Cod Hospital by the Provincetown Fire Department.
Mother Accused of Throwing 1-month old and 2-year-old Children Out of Second-Story Window
A New York mom, Dejhanny Jarrell, 24, reportedly threw her one-month-old daughter and her two-year-old son out of a second-floor window of a Brooklyn apartment building on Saturday, according to the New York City Police Department.
Before authorities arrived at the building on Rockaway Parkway around 11:24 a.m. local time, they received reports of serious injuries.
After throwing her children out of the window, Jarrell also jumped from the second story of the apartment building. According to the reports, both the children and the mother were not wearing any kind of clothing when they were found.
All three were then transported to the nearby Brookdale Hospital, where authorities described the little girl as being in critical condition and the woman and toddler as “stable.”
Shandie Harrison, a neighbor, stated that she heard a child scream and a smashing sound during the incident.
“We saw the newborn, we started screaming,” she told the authorities. “It was three of them naked on the ground, the mom, the newborn baby, and another little child.”
According to Harrison, the woman then began grasping the baby’s leg and pounding her head into the ground, preventing Harrison’s brother-in-law, Carl Chin, from removing the baby.
Carl Chin’s apartment window is directly across from the alley where the children were dumped.
“I was sitting in my bedroom and first I heard a baby crying and then we heard a loud thunk, like a body hit the ground,” he said. They watched in horror as the little boy fell to the ground next and Chin realized it was no accident.
“After she landed and fell on the floor, she got up and picked the baby up by the leg and dropped her at least two times. So I jumped over the fence and basically wrestled with her to get the child,” he said.
Jarrell was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Angelina Jolie Has Been Spotted At Her Ex Husband’s Apartment
This summer, it appears as though everyone is reconciling with their ex-partners. To begin, there was the reunion that sparked everything: Bennifer 2.0. Then there was Kanye West being sighted in France with his ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk. However, even Bennifer could not have prepared us for Angelina Jolie’s New York City reunion with ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller.
Angelina Jolie was recently photographed coming at Miller’s Dumbo flat without a bodyguard. Jolie was last spotted leaving the premises three hours later, at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Jolie and Miller met on the set of the 1995 film “Hackers,” and by 1996, they were married. You may recall the memorable headlines when Jolie was reported to have married wearing a white T-shirt with Miller’s name scrawled in her own blood.
At the age of 20, Jolie fell head over heels in love with Miller; nevertheless, the couple chose to separate in September 1997 before filing for divorce in 1999. Jolie has now voiced public sadness about the way her marriage to Miller ended. Jolie reportedly stated in a 2004 interview with B magazine that their divorce was “was probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.”
We’ll have to wait and see if Miller and Jolie are rekindling their romance. Given that both are single, this is a distinct possibility. Who knows, this could be the latest celebrity pair to rise from the ashes, provided no one else texts their ex.
Jolie’s excursion comes just days after she began a vacation to New York City with all six of her and ex-husband Brad Pitt’s children in celebration of her birthday. The family arrived more than a week after a judge granted the actor shared custody of five of the children, all of whom are minors.
Miller stated Stuff.co.nz in 2017 when asked if he maintains contact with Jolie, “Yeah – we’re still friends.” The actress previously told BuzzFeed in 2014 that the actor was “still a wonderful friend.”
Jolie and Miller began dating during the production of the cult film Hackers, in which they starred as antagonistic love interests and elite hackers Crash Override and Acid Burn. They ended their relationship following the completion of the film, but eventually reconciled.

“This is a tragedy. Right now, I am praying for the victims and families at this time. Let me be clear, these attacks on 75th Street or, anywhere in our communities, are unacceptable. We have been working hard to rebuild 75th Street as a thriving business corridor, and the community is committed to this vision,” 6th Ward Alderman Roderick Sawyer said.
“These past nights will not undo years of hard work and business development. These are the actions of a few; who were not patronizing the businesses. I am committed to continued investment in violence prevention methods and ensuring our communities are safe,” Sawyer added.
Yale Grad Student From Chicago was Shot Multiple Times at Close Range
Court documents recently gave light on the murder of Yale graduate student Kevin Jiang, who grew up in the Chicago region. Police have issued an arrest warrant for Qinxuan Pan, 30, who is charged with murder in connection with Jiang’s death. Pan is being held on a twenty-million-dollar bail.
Pan was apprehended in Alabama last month, after a three-month manhunt.
According to the warrant, Jiang was shot many times in the face and body at close range. Additionally, it stated that Pan rammed his SUV into Jiang’s car before the shooting.
Jiang had recently been engaged, just before his death. His fiancée testified to police that she and Pan were friends at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and that she believed Pan had a crush on her, but they never had a romantic relationship.
Jiang was discovered deceased in New Haven, Connecticut, on February 6.
The arrest warrant and search warrants in the case stated that Jiang, 26, had just returned from a day of fishing with his fiancée, Zion Perry. She told authorities she heard gunfire but didn’t immediately think of Jiang, assuming he had already left the area.
Authorities stated in the documents that audio and video surveillance footage showed Jiang exiting his car following what sounded like a collision and approaching a vehicle behind him. Then gunshots become audible.
The warrants also state that a short time later, officers in nearby North Haven were forced to tow a car off railroad tracks after it was stuck. Pan was the driver, who informed them that the vehicle was rented but could not present any papers.
According to authorities, he vanished after being escorted to a motel, which police discovered the following day when searching for him. They sought him out when employees at a nearby restaurant reported seeing a bag containing a gun, ammunition, license plates, and a briefcase outside. One of the police recognized the suitcases as belonging to Pan’s car from the previous day.
