Broadway Shows are Returning as New York City Theaters Reopen

After a year and a half since the COVID-19 health crisis abruptly closed down New York City’s thriving theatrical sector, Broadway performances are slowly beginning to open their doors to the public once more. The return of Broadway signals the arrival of normalcy to the city that was hard-hit by the pandemic.

The first to return was the Sara Bareilles-led Waitress, which premiered on September 2 to a rapturous response from the audience and critics. A tribute was also paid to former cast member Nick Cordero, who passed away in July after enduring symptoms from the COVID-19.

Following that will be Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash hit Hamilton, the long-running Disney musical The Lion King, as well as Broadway mainstays Wicked and Chicago.

All performances are being held for fully vaccinated audiences, and masks are necessary for all attendees.

“When you think of New York City…it’s the capital of arts and culture,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said, according to a local news outlet. “People love Broadway. When Broadway is up and running, it says so much about New York City. And tonight, a lot of Broadway is coming back… You can feel the life of the city coming back.”

In the meantime, Six, a musical that was still in previews when it was forced to close, will resume performances on September 17 before opening its official doors on October 3.

Another returning musical is the Tony-winning Come from Away, which recounts a touching story set against the backdrop of the 9/11 attacks.

Royal fans will also get the opportunity to see the Princess Diana musical, suitably titled Diana, when it launches later this season on November 17.

Denise Richards’ Daughter Makes ‘Abusive Household’ Allegation as Source Defends Actress’ House Rules

The 17-year-old daughter of ex-couple Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen is claiming she has moved out of a “hell house,” claiming to have been subjected to an “abusive family.”

Sami Sheen apparently stated in recent viral TikToks caught by the New York Post’s Page Six that she was “trapped in an abusive household [and] hated myself,” saying that she “would go days without eating or sleeping, insanely depressed, hated school, etc….”

“Now,” she added, “finally moved out of the hell house, had a spiritual awakening, own 2 cats, happy single, full of self-love, and dropped out of high school :)” Since then, the posts have been made private.

“Sam is amazing. I love her and all my children unconditionally. We’re having a ball. GED here we come,” Charlie made the statement through Jeff Ballard, his spokesman.

Sami was living with Richards last year, a source reveals to PEOPLE. “Denise set normal rules that any parent would be setting,” the insider says. “She’s a mom and a parent, and there are rules. She didn’t want to follow the rules.”

“Charlie didn’t support implementing Denise’s rules. He has a different way of parenting, and Sami decided to live with her dad,” the source adds. “Denise loves her daughter very much, and she’s saddened by the situation.”

Richards and ex-husband Charlie share 16-year-old daughters Sami and Lola Rose. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star subsequently welcomed daughter Eloise Joni, 10, in 2011. Charlie is also the father of Cassandra, 36, and twin 12-year-old sons, children from previous relationships.

Denise and Charlie met in 2000 while filming the film Good Advice, but it wasn’t until 2001, when the actress guest-starred on Charlie’s previous sitcom Spin City, that a romance blossomed. They tied the knot in June 2002. However, by March 2005, Denise had filed for divorce, while Charlie was undergoing a drug and alcohol relapse.

Former Teen Star Amanda Bynes will Remain in Conservatorship Until 2023

Amanda Bynes will remain in conservatorship for an additional year and a half – for the time being. A judge rendered the decision following a recent status hearing. The decision’s details are not available.

The conservatorship must file its next update by January 25, 2023, according to court documents obtained by Yahoo Entertainment. The next hearing on the status of the case is scheduled for March 8, 2023. Lynn Bynes, Amanda’s mother, serves as conservator.

Amanda’s attorney tells Yahoo Entertainment that referring to the conservatorship as extended is “misleading.”

“Because Amanda’s person is conserved for medical reasons only, a health status report is required to be filed every two years with the court. The recently filed status report was approved by the court,” David A. Esquibias provides clarification to Yahoo. “Should the conservatorship continue, the next status report is due in two years. This does not mean the conservatorship was extended for two years. The conservatorship can be terminated at any time for good cause.”

The actress, 35, was placed in a temporary conservatorship in 2013 following a series of run-ins with the authorities. Amanda has previously spoken candidly about her struggles with mental health and substance misuse. She kept a low profile and enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). She relapsed in 2019. She met her fiancé Paul Michael at a sober living facility.

In March 2020, Amanda celebrated 14 months of sobriety but had a challenging year. Amanda’s attorney admitted she entered a rehab facility but disputed it was for substance misuse.

“Any reports that Amanda is suffering from drug or alcohol addiction issues are completely false. She is seeking treatment for ongoing mental health issues,” according to her attorney, who told Yahoo. “We ask for privacy during this time and for any speculation about her personal life from the public and the media to cease so Amanda can focus on getting better.”

Amanda returned to Instagram two months later to inform her admirers that she was ‘back on track and doing well!’ The child star ‘worked on coping skills to help with [her] social anxiety that caused [her] to drop out of school months ago.’ Amanda stated that she re-entered FIDM.

“I’m now living in transitional living and doing therapy during the week,” she explained.

Amanda remained primarily out of the spotlight, with the exception of a few social media posts. In December 2020, she was photographed holding hands with Michael.

Chrissy Teigen Underwent Cheek Fat Removal; A Surgeon Explains the Technique

Chrissy Teigen opened up about her recent surgery this week. The television personality revealed on Instagram that she had a buccal fat reduction, a cosmetic surgical operation that aims to minimize fullness in the cheeks and give the face more shape.

“I did that Dr. Diamond buccal fat removal thing here,” Teigen shared on the social media platform, referring to Dr. 90210’s famed facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond. “And since I quit drinking, I’m really seeing the results, and I like it. Yeah, I did it, what?”

Yahoo Life spoke with Dr. Frank Agullo about Teigen’s operation and the reasons why some people choose to undergo buccal fat removal surgery.

“Many people are inspired by Angelina Jolie’s jawline and cheek contour. Buccal fat pad removal is one of the ways to obtain this look,” he explains. “It helps change a round face into a more triangular and slender aesthetically pleasing shape. It can create the shadow effect often created with makeup between the cheek and the jawline. The results are often subtle and can be mimicked by pursing your lips and slightly sucking in your cheeks.”

The surgery is a “straightforward process” conducted under local anesthetic in less than 30 minutes.

“The buccal fat pad is a pocket of fat that fills deep tissue spaces in the cheek and temporal areas,” he says. “Removal is performed through a small incision inside the mouth.”

He says that “patients with a round face with cheek fullness are the best candidates.”

“These patients are often seeking a slender, more triangular shape to the face. The procedure is also indicated in patients seeking more jawline definition,” Dr. Agullo notes. “Patients with very little facial fat are not good candidates.”

Recovery is typically “painless,” with “very small” scars concealed within the mouth. While cheek swelling is likely, the majority of patients can return to work the following day. They are, however, recommended to limit exercise for two weeks to minimize additional edema.

While the surgery costs between $3,000 and $4,000, Dr. Agullo emphasizes that it can frequently be performed considerably less, and some dentists even offer it.

There are solutions for folks who desire the snatched look but are not interested in undergoing surgery. Contouring with makeup is one option; Botox and fillers are also available. On the other hand, Teigen opted for a more permanent option – and she is overjoyed with the outcome.

Taco Bell Offers a 30-Day Taco Subscription, But There is a Catch

While a taco a day may not be enough to keep the doctor away, it certainly sounds like a dream come true. A subscription service called the Taco Lover’s Pass, which allows app users to redeem one taco each day for a period of 30 days, has been launched by Taco Bell.

One caveat, however: the trial is only available to those who live in Arizona.

If you live in Tucson, you’re in for a good deal. From September 9 to November 24, approximately 20 Tucson Taco Bell shops will participate in the limited-time taco experiment. The cost of the pass varies from $5 to $10, depending on the Taco Bell location. Individual Taco Bell tacos typically cost between $1.39 and $2.39.

Thus, even a ten-dollar pass pays for itself after seven visits.

With the pass, Taco Bell says you can order any of the “Taco Bell originals,” including the Crunchy Taco, Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Crunchy Supreme Taco, Soft Supreme Taco, Doritos Locos Taco, and the Doritos Locos Taco Supreme. Of course, the natural catch is that a single taco does not constitute a whole meal. Hence, pass users will likely need to spend additional money to supplement their order, but the taco is definitely reasonably priced.

Customers will be able to add the daily taco to their basket during the checkout process once they have purchased the Taco Lover’s Pass. In the event that you order additional snacks or menu items, the full charge will apply.

The Taco Lover’s Pass news release follows the chain’s recent announcement that its limited-edition Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco will be available nationwide starting this month.

There is presently no indication as to whether Taco Bell wants to expand the Taco Lover’s Pass to include locations throughout the state, but fast-food enthusiasts across the country are surely keeping their fingers crossed.
