US FDA Issues Its First Vape Authorization to Vuse E-Cigarettes

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday that it had approved e-cigarette products for the first time in history, approving R.J. Reynolds’ sale of three Vuse vape products.

“While today’s action permits the tobacco products to be sold in the U.S., it does not mean these products are safe or ‘FDA approved.’ All tobacco products are harmful and addictive, and those who do not use tobacco products should not start,” FDA officials stated in a statement.

The FDA stated that it had refused the company’s request to sell ten flavored goods but did not specify which ones. The three allowed items are all flavored with tobacco, and the FDA determined that they are less likely to be used by teens and more likely to appeal to smokers to lower their risk of damage.

“Today’s authorizations are an important step toward ensuring all new tobacco products undergo the FDA’s robust, scientific premarket evaluation,” said Mitch Zeller, Director of the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products.

“The manufacturer’s data demonstrates its tobacco-flavored products could benefit addicted adult smokers who switch to these products — either completely or with a significant reduction in cigarette consumption — by reducing their exposure to harmful chemicals,” Zeller noted.

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, which campaigns for tobacco product eradication, was unimpressed.

“While it is a positive step that FDA denied applications for ten flavored Vuse e-cigarettes, it is concerning that a product that has three times the nicotine concentration as legally permitted in Canada, the U.K., and Europe was authorized. Vuse products with this level of nicotine leave our nation’s youth at an undue risk of addiction,” Matthew L. Myers, the group’s president, said in a statement.

The FDA stated that it would monitor the items’ marketing.

“We must remain vigilant with this authorization, and we will monitor the marketing of the products, including whether the company fails to comply with any regulatory requirements or if credible evidence emerges of significant use by individuals who did not previously use a tobacco product, including youth. We will take action as appropriate, including withdrawing the authorization.”

The FDA’s action prohibits the items’ advertising on digital, radio, and television, the FDA stated.

“These products were found to meet this standard because, among several key considerations, the agency determined that study participants who used only the authorized products were exposed to fewer harmful and potentially harmful constituents from aerosols compared to users of combusted cigarettes,” the FDA stated.

For years, e-cigarette products have been allowed to remain on the market, although none have received FDA authorization.

Pregnant Kylie Jenner Slammed for Posing in a ‘Disturbing’ Graphic Photoshoot Drenched in Fake Blood

Kylie Jenner has come under fire for posing naked in fake blood during a “disturbing” photoshoot. According to some KUWTK fans, the blood in the photographs marketing her new Halloween-themed makeup collection was too “real” and was “triggering” for women.

In the photographs, Kylie was bathed in synthetic blood, which coated her from head to toe in stains. Wrapping her arms over her torso, she offered a solemn face to the camera as she sat on a white floor surrounded by pools of “blood.”

As one critic put it: “I’m a mother of two baby girls, so for me it was disturbing seeing this, but like I said, it’s just my opinion which obviously doesn’t matter.”

“I’m a nurse and worked in IVF; I saw so many women go through miscarriages etc. The blood looks so real, and knowing she’s pregnant makes it weird but yeah, just my opinion.”

Another continued: “It’s crazy to normalize such a thing, especially when you think about women who actually end up like this in tragic events.”

A third posted: “I felt exactly the same. Plus, it’s triggering.”

Some fans supported Kylie’s photos, which they described as “art,” with one user writing: “For some, it is very traumatic, and for others, it is art. Let’s agree to disagree and just not go back and forth.”

Kylie’s new “spooky” cosmetics line inspired by the horror film Nightmare on Elm Street has gotten mixed reviews. Freddy Krueger is the heinous protagonist of 1984’s legendary horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street, stalking and murdering victims in their dreams.

Following weeks of fan speculation, the young mom revealed that she was pregnant with her second child in September. She is already the mother of three-year-old Stormi, whom she shares with her 30-year-old boyfriend, Travis Scott.

Kylie announced her pregnancy with a video that included footage from a visit to the doctor with Travis and their daughter for an ultrasound. Later in the clip, the couple stunned momager and family matriarch Kris Jenner by presenting her with an ultrasound shot.

Britney Spears’ Uncle Willie Threatens Her Fans: ‘Motherf***ers, watch what you say!’

Britney Spears’ uncle Willie threatened her fans in a furious video during the family’s battle over her conservatorship, according to The Sun. Despite proudly plastering his Louisiana house with the pop star’s memorabilia, Willie Spears, Jamie’s brother, sent a nasty message to the #FreeBritney campaign.

Though Willie, 63, filmed the stressful footage obtained by The Sun at night, he wore sunglasses and a hat to conceal his identity. He moved closer to the camera and said aggressively, “I only got one thing to say to all you Britney motherf**kers out there: Watch what you say NOW!”

Willie is shown in another footage, initially posted to his Facebook page, seated in front of a wall covered in Britney merchandise and autographs. Among the objects taped to the cupboards are Britney’s headshots, promotional images in which she bares a lot of skin, autographs, and concert tickets.

Willie previously discussed the complicated Spears family dynamic in his 2009 biography, Britney: Inside the Dream, in which he claimed that tensions between him and Jamie, 69, were occasionally so terrible that they resorted to violence.

“One time, Jamie was drunk and tried to drive off with Britney in the car. She was no more than five years old. I tried to stop him, so I reached into the truck to grab the keys from the ignition, and he punched me.”

“We got right into it there by the car, fighting in front of her. Britney was jumping up and down, crying. Lynne had to run out to get her inside. We Spears men are known for fighting. If Britney happened to be there, so be it.”

Willie also said in the book: “At first Britney was a scared child, and you’d catch her crying, but she reached the stage when she just walked off as if it wasn’t happening. And as she got older, she would scream and curse at her parents to get them to stop fighting.”

Last month, the Sometimes singer won a significant legal success when Judge Brenda Penny approved Jamie’s suspension from conservatorship following a 13-year fight.

John Cusack Called a Barstool Sports Reporter a “Pathetic Little Troll” After He was Accused of Being a ‘Bandwagon’ Chicago White Sox Fan

John Cusack, a lifetime Chicago Cubs fan, was in attendance to see the White Sox defeat the Houston Astros 12-6 at Guaranteed Rate Field, extending their lead atop the American League Central standings. Dave Williams of Barstool Sports challenged him after the game, who took issue with the actor’s appearance.

“I can like whoever I want,” Cusack said Williams, who has stated that he is a fan of both the Cubs and White Sox.

Cusack then proceeded to quiz Williams on White Sox trivia.

When Williams answered incorrectly, Cusack said, “That proves your ignorance.”

“We’ll have to agree to disagree,” Cusack concluded the conversation.

However, Williams then tweeted, “John Cusack can suck my balls.”

Following that tweet, the actor was forthright. Cusack referred to Williams as a “pathetic little troll” and a “sweaty belligerent punk” who confronted him only in the hope that video of the encounter would go viral.

“He’s not a Sox fan,” the actor replied to a supporter, adding that Williams “knows nothing about the Sox I asked him. He’s a clickbait a–hole.”

The incident’s video footage has been seen over 2 million times, and even actor Patricia Arquette has weighed in.

“Stop this,” she tweeted in reply to the video on Twitter. “This is a bad example to kids and not in the spirit of baseball. You don’t get to decide who can cheer for who.”

Cusack responded to Arquette in a since-deleted tweet, writing: “You know what’s bad, Patricia, a bad example? When a belligerent sweaty asshole invades your personal space with foul breath — spewing childish gibberish — when supporting your city and enjoying a baseball game.”

“He really is a foul little boy,” Cusack added.

Monday’s American League Division Series Game 4 between the White Sox and Astros has been delayed until 1:07 p.m. Tuesday in Chicago due to inclement weather. Houston leads the best-of-five series 2-1.
