Walmart Announces Black Friday Plans for 2021, Including Three Sales and Perks for Walmart+ Members

Walmart announced Monday that it will return to November’s month-long “Black Friday Deals for Days” promotion. The retailer is spreading out its Black Friday deals for the second year.

Instead of a single sale that begins on Thanksgiving, there will be three special sale events online and in stores. The opening sale starts online on November 3 at 7 p.m. ET and in-store on November 5 at 5 a.m. local time.

Walmart is allowing early access to paid members of its Walmart+ membership this year. Members may begin shopping four hours before the scheduled online shopping hours. The service costs $98 per year or $12.95 per month and includes unlimited free delivery and shipping. Free trials of the membership program do not have early access.

The second begins online on November 10 at 7 p.m. ET and stores on November 12 at 5 a.m. local time. Walmart did not disclose the dates for the third sale.

Walmart says the “events are designed for a safe, enjoyable experience” that all of the bargains are available online, and that “to help ensure safe shopping in stores, Walmart follows CDC guidance and local mandates.”

Dates of Walmart’s Black Friday sales:

Black Friday Event 1: Walmart describes Black Friday Event 1 as offering “amazing deals on toys and electronics,” including a 55-inch TCL 4K Roku TV for $228 and a Keurig K-Compact for $35. November 3 at 7 p.m. ET and November 5 at 5 a.m. local time, deals will commence online. (3 – 6 p.m. ET on November 3, Walmart+ members can shop.)

Black Friday Event 2: This sale has discounts on fashion, household products, and hardlines, among other items. Online sales begin at 7 p.m. ET on November 10 and at 5 a.m. local time on November 12. (3 – 6 p.m. ET on November 10, Walmart+ members can shop.)

Black Friday Event 3: Walmart did not disclose dates for this last sale but stated that it “will wrap up a month of savings with a third event that will bring its biggest, best savings of the season for the most exciting shopping day of the year.”

Walmart.com currently features “thousands of deals,” as well as Black Friday savings on certain items beginning Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET, while supplies last. In addition to its everyday low pricing, there will be “Rollbacks on items across the store and on Walmart.com, on top of its everyday low prices.”

Jay-Z to Testify in a Lawsuit Alleging That He Breached a Perfume Contract

Jay-Z, the 51-year-old rap mogul whose actual name is Shawn Carter, is set to be cross-examined on the witness stand about allegations that he breached a deal to sell his own perfume.

The rapper is named in a breach of contract complaint brought by Parlux Fragrances, accusing him of not distributing the Gold Jay-Z fragrance line under a 2012 agreement.

Parlux sued in Manhattan Supreme Court in 2016, alleging that the rapper refused to promote the perfume on “Good Morning America” and in Women’s Wear Daily. Additionally, he is accused of declining to make a promotional appearance at Macy’s.

According to the lawsuit, it even proposed a contest with a prize of a $20,000 perfume bottle with an 18-karat gold lid, only for Carter to reject the campaign and keep the prototype.

The company asserts that it lost a total of $18 million as a result of Carter allegedly failing to keep his end of the bargain, and names Carter and his company, S. Carter Enterprises, as defendants.

“The launch started out successfully, and the product initially received rave reviews from Palux’s retailer customers,” according to the lawsuit filed January 25, 2016.

“However, in the fragrance industry, it is virtually impossible to sustain the success of a celebrity fragrance brand,” the lawsuit stated, without “promotional support from the celebrity in the form of public appearances” and “regularly updating and refreshing the brand with ‘flanker’ launches and new line extensions.”

The suit stated that “Flanker” launches consist of “using new packaging, often new fragrance scents and some variation on the name of the originally launched brand.”

Carter countersued, claiming that Parlux owes him $2.7 million from the deal.

Carter had already provided a video deposition in the case, but Judge Andrew Borrok stated during an October 1 hearing that Parlux should call Carter as a live witness and “do this the old-fashioned way.”

At the hearing, Parlux attorney Anthony Viola stated that Carter would be his first witness.

“This should be sorted out pretty quickly now, given the fact that Mr. Viola knows that I’m encouraging him to call the artist and the artist’s business manager,” Borrok said then. “So, the artist might be our first witness in the case if that’s what Mr. Viola chooses.”

When the rapper will testify is unknown. The jury selection in the civil lawsuit starts Monday.

Kourtney Kardashian Announces Engagement to Blink 182 Drummer, Travis Barker on Instagram

The 42-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and the 45-year-old Blink 182 drummer are engaged. Kourtney Kardashian shared images from the emotional proposal on Instagram with the comment, “forever @travisbarker.”

According to TMZ, Travis Barker proposed at a beachfront hotel in Montecito, California. The musician meticulously planned an elaborate floral arrangement on the beach before kneeling and proposing.

While this is Kardashian’s first engagement, she shares her three children with ex-partner Scott Disick. Barker previously married Melissa Kennedy in 2001 and Shanna Moakler in 2004 and 2008, respectively. Kardashian has also been linked to Younes Bendjima and Luka Sabbat, while Barker dated Rita Ora briefly in 2015.

In January, PEOPLE confirmed Kardashian and Barker’s relationship. They officially declared their relationship on Instagram in February, following Valentine’s Day, when the reality star published a snapshot of the couple holding hands.

Kardashian was “ready for a relationship with a more mature guy,” a source told PEOPLE in March. Barker is “not a player,” adding that he is “really nice, chill and is an adult.”

Barker immortalized his love for Kardashian in early April by getting her name tattooed on his breast. Their affection for each other has continued to heat up since then. Barker also referred to Kardashian as the “love of my life” in May.

The couple ignited romantic speculations in 2018 and 2019 after being sighted together in the Los Angeles region prior to attempting a relationship. In a March 2019 interview with PEOPLE, the musician denied the duo were dating and stated that they were only friends.

“Kourtney’s like a dear friend. That’s it,” he said to PEOPLE in 2019 at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. “I mean, I love her to death. I love her family to death. But yeah, just friends,” Barker stated at that time.

Barker received approval from Kardashian’s family shortly after they began dating, a source told PEOPLE.

“Her family and friends all really like him,” the source said. “Their kids all get along too, which is sweet.”

Scott Disick, 37, also gave his blessing to his ex-girlfriend’s relationship during the reunion of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, “I think if you really love somebody, you want them to be happy no matter what. So I do give her a blessing to be happy.”

Melissa Joan Hart Wins $1 Million for Charity in ‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’

On Sunday’s ‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,’ Melissa Joan Hart of ‘Sabrina, the Teenage Witch’ was the first $1 million winner for charity, after facing off against Tituss Burgess and Lacey Chabert.

Hart knew something extraordinary had transpired by the wild-eyed expression on the show’s long-time hostess’ face.

“Vanna White’s face turned white,” says Hart. “Vanna looked at me and was like, ‘You got it! You got it!’ I hit the roof. She hit the roof.”

“It was super exciting and pretty nerve-wracking; I rarely win game shows,” says Hart, who Fred Savage defeated in a 1998 ‘Celebrity Jeopardy’ duel.

Hart joins an exclusive club with her “Celebrity” triumph. Since its inception in 2008, the syndicated ‘Wheel of Fortune’ has produced only three ‘Million Dollar Wedge’ winners.

Is it a coincidence that Hart’s win occurred on the 25th anniversary of her breakout appearance on ABC’s ‘Sabrina’ in 1996?

“I would like to say witchcraft was involved,” says Hart. “But to be honest, I prayed a lot more than any kind of sorcery. I literally prayed every round, especially that winning round. I’d close my eyes and say, ‘God, give me focus and calm and let me just read these letters.'”

Divine intervention was required to bolster her ability to solve puzzles. Hart was required to spin the wheel, land on Million Dollar Wedges twice, and solve both puzzles, all while competing against astute opponents such as long-time buddy Chabert, who had completed the show’s first challenge without any hints.

“Lacey is a ‘Wheel of Fortune’ shark,” says Hart. “In the first round, she was killing it. I just couldn’t see the words as fast as she could.”

However, Hart said, “My mom used to watch the show every night before dinner.” For weeks, she honed her skills playing the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ app while putting her youngest son Tucker, 9, to bed. “I wasn’t going to go in there blind; I’m a prepared person,” she explains.

When host Pat Sajak declared Hart’s victory, she screamed and clutched her quivering palms to her head.

Hart, who received no compensation for his appearance on the game show, raised a total of $1,039,800 for Youth Villages, a charity organization that aids emotionally and behaviorally distressed children and their families.

The overjoyed Hart requested permission from the show’s producers to keep the $1 million prize card as a souvenir. “They had to ask the prop people, ‘Can we make more of these?’ ” says Hart. “So not only did I win the million, I stole the million-dollar card.”

The Original Scream House is Open for a Spooky Halloween Stay with Horror Film Actor David Arquette as the Airbnb Host

Horror fans are invited to a haunted Halloween stay at the original Scream mansion, which will be hosted by iconic slasher film star David Arquette. In honor of the famous 1996 horror film, up to four brave guests will be allowed an overnight stay at the Northern California mansion.

Arquette, who portrays Sheriff Dewey Riley, will serve as their virtual host for the deadly nightly stays and provide guests with instructions on avoiding becoming another victim of masked serial killer Ghostface.

Arquette, as Sheriff Riley said in an Airbnb press release, “Protecting the town of Woodsboro is my life’s duty, and I’ve certainly developed a knack for escaping Ghostface.”

“As your Host, I’ll be keeping a watchful eye on guests to ensure no one gets surprised by an unexpected plot twist. Trust me, horror movies always keep it interesting, for better or for worse.”

The property can accommodate up to four visitors for one night on the Halloween weekend of October 27, 29, and 31. They will be greeted virtually by Sheriff Dewey and then treated to a Scream movie marathon on VHS, iconic 1990s snacks, and pizza.

The guests will be put to the test if they attempt to use or pick up a phone line connected to Ghostface and discover knife marks on the garage doors. The house is outfitted in classic throwback 90s style, with the kitchen set up exactly as it was in the film’s famous climactic scene, in which Ghostface stalks his victims one by one at a house party.

The living room features plush couches and an antique television perfect for watching the VHS marathon. The upstairs bedroom features a vintage blue checkered bedding set with a chest at the foot of the bed.

Arquette and fellow Scream series veterans Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox will star in the new Scream movie, scheduled to premiere in January 2022.
