UN Says $6 Billion From World’s Billionaires Could End Food Crisis: Elon Musk will Donate Tesla Stock Proceeds if UN Can Prove It

Elon Musk, one of the world’s billionaires, has stated that he will sell Tesla stock and give the money to the United Nations if it can demonstrate that a small portion of his riches might end the world’s hunger crisis.

Musk was responding to statements made last week by David Beasley, Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, who said that a $6 billion donation from billionaires like Musk and Bezos might help 42 million people who are “literally going to die if we don’t reach them.”

Bloomberg Billionaires Index reported that Musk is currently the world’s wealthiest man and the first individual to be worth more than $300 billion. Tesla CEO Elon Musk presently has a net worth of $311 billion, so a $6 billion donation would represent 2% of his fortune, and would still leave him ahead of Jeff Bezos, the second richest man, by at least $100 billion.

On the other hand, Musk is disputing the World Food Programme’s claim that the amount will end the present food problem, saying on Twitter that if the World Food Programme can demonstrate it, he will “sell Tesla stock right now and do it.” He also sought transparency regarding how the funds would be spent.

Beasley reacted to Musk’s tweet with the following: “I can assure you that we have the systems in place for transparency and open source accounting. Your team can review and work with us to be totally confident of such.”

Additionally, he highlighted that the United Nations World Food Programme has never stated that $6 billion will end world hunger. “This is a one-time donation to save 42 million lives during this unprecedented hunger crisis,” he tweeted.

Beasley of the World Food Programme has been reiterating his appeal to billionaires, urging them to take on the challenge of eradicating world hunger.

“It’s not complicated. I’m not asking them to do this every day, every week, every year,” Beasley stated during his CNN appearance.

“The top 400 billionaires in the United States, the net-worth increase was $1.8 trillion in the past year,” he stated. “All I’m asking for is .36% of your net-worth increase. I’m for people making money, but God knows I’m all for you helping people who are in great need right now. The world is in trouble.”

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson Were Seen Holding Hands at Knott’s Scary Farm, But They’re ‘Just Friends,’ a Source Explains

Kim Kardashian, 41, was pictured Friday riding a rollercoaster with Pete Davidson, 27, at Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park, California. The pair was seen holding hands in exclusive photographs obtained by PEOPLE while riding a rollercoaster with friends.

Kourtney Kardashian, Kim’s sister, and her fiancé Travis Barker joined them for the outing. Davidson and Barker are acquainted through Machine Gun Kelly, a mutual buddy.

“They hang in the same circles so they will be together from time to time,” a source tells PEOPLE. “It’s just friends hanging out.”

Kim enjoyed an on-screen kiss with Pete earlier this month while hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time. They previously partied at Kid Cudi’s birthday party in January 2019, alongside Timothée Chalamet and Kim’s husband Kanye West, from whom she is now divorcing.

Kim began dating Kanye, 44, and the couple got married in Florence, Italy, in 2014. After a tumultuous year in their marriage, Kim filed for divorce from the rapper in February after six years of marriage. They’ve maintained their amicable relationship while focusing on co-parenting their children: daughters North, 8, and Chicago, 3, as well as sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, 2.

Kanye was recently spotted in New York City, cheering on his former spouse during her Saturday Night Live debut. She previously attended several listening events in August for his tenth studio album Donda.

“Kim and Kanye are friends, but that’s it. She is still moving forward with the divorce,” a source told PEOPLE this month. “She loves having Kanye’s support, though. They were not in a good place around the time Kim filed for divorce. She is so happy that things are better now. It’s all very beneficial for the kids.”

In the past, Pete has dated Cazzie David, Kaia Gerber, Kate Beckinsale, Phoebe Dynevor, Margaret Qualley, and he was engaged to Ariana Grande for a brief while in 2018.

Kim and Pete’s representatives did not immediately reply to calls for comment from PEOPLE.

Gigi Hadid’s Family Urges Zayn Malik to Seek Treatment in a Rehab Facility for His Heavy Cannabis Use

The former One Direction star’s career was in chaos as he was sentenced to probation and anger-management classes on four charges of intimidating ex-girlfriend Gigi’s mother, Yolanda. His record label, RCA, also sacked him.

The singer allegedly branded Netherlands-born Yolanda a “f***ing Dutch slut” during a scorching row on September 29 at the ranch he shared with Gigi and their one-year-old daughter Khai in Pennsylvania.

A source close to Gigi’s family said, “Zayn is detached from the world, and Gigi’s family have been worried about him for a while. “

“It is no secret he loves to smoke pot, but his daily habit seems more important than socializing. He’s been open about his anxiety issues over the years, and that’s a huge cause for concern.”

“Gigi comes from a large family, and it’s been tough for them to deal with over the last few years. They want him to seek help either through therapy or some kind of specialist rehab.”

“Gigi wants what’s best for him. Even though they’re not together, he’ll always be the father to their daughter.”

Court documents assert that Zayn told Yolanda, “Stay away from my f***ing daughter,” and pushed her into a dresser, causing “mental anguish and physical pain.”

He entered a not guilty plea but vehemently denied striking her. Gigi was in Paris at the time but is reported to have overheard most of the altercation through the phone.

Zayn is then said to have turned on her, urging her to “strap on some f***ing balls and defend your partner against your f***ing mother in my house.”

According to court filings, a security guard witnessed the argument and claimed Zayn yelled at him, “Get the f*** out of my f***ing house, Copper.”

Zayn wrote in his 2016 autobiography: “I’ve been accused of misogyny in the past, for relationship stuff, and that gets to me because I’ve always had a huge amount of respect for women.”

“I think all the women I’ve surrounded myself within a professional and personal capacity would agree with that. I’ve found the whole macho world of male aggression and insecurity to be a lot more difficult to exist in. That was my first experience in the music industry. Women seem to be able to move their barriers a lot more easily. That’s something that draws me much more towards the company of women than other men.”

Tom Brady Admits the ‘Very Difficult Issue’ That He and Wife Gisele Bundchen Are Unable to Resolve

Tom Brady admitted that he and his wife Gisele Bundchen have never been able to agree on a retirement date. The celebrated football great has spent his entire career in Boston with the New England Patriots and the last two years in Florida with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, the father-of-three has now admitted that Gisele, a former supermodel, temporarily suspended her job to help him raise their children.

“That’s an issue, and it’s a very difficult issue to reconcile without just saying, ‘Hey, it’s time to retire,'” the 44-year-old said on his podcast Let’s Go, saying: “And I think there’s, you know, we’re coming to the end here too, so I don’t want to miss any of the kids’ stuff.”

“I think my wife has, you know, held down the house for a long time now,” he continued, “and I think there’s things that she wants to accomplish.”

“You know, she hasn’t worked as much in the last 10, 12 years just raising our family and kind of committing to being in a life in Boston and then moving to Florida.”

He earned the Buccaneers their sixth Super Bowl ring in his first season with the team at the age of 43. He later said that Gisele muttered in his ear following the event, “What more do you have to prove?”

“I just gave her a big hug; I was trying to figure out a way to change the subject really quick,” the father of three explained to James Corden.

Tom and Gisele have been married for 12 years and marked the occasion with a heartfelt social media shoutout in February.

The NFL player captioned a lovely snapshot of his family, which included his children, on Instagram: “Happy anniversary!! I couldn’t have imagined a better wife and partner than you @gisele when I said ‘I do’ 12 years ago.

“I have had so much fun, happiness, and joy seeing our family grow! You are the sweetest, most loving, and determined person I know. You always do what’s right, and you are the best example for our kids of what a supportive, loving partner is! How blessed am I?? Te Amo.”

Burger King Partners Up With Robinhood to Give Away Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin

Burger King announced Monday that it is partnering with investment platform Robinhood to offer Royal Perks loyalty members the chance to win a “side of cryptocurrency” – which includes Dogecoin, Ethereum, or Bitcoin – beginning Monday. The offer comes as interest in digital currency continues to grow.

According to Maria Posada, Vice President of the Digital Guest Experience for Burger King North America, partnering with Robinhood to offer digital currency to customers was a “natural fit” given the current conversation surrounding cryptocurrencies.

The fast-food restaurant is “offering crypto in a way that’s accessible and digestible – literally and figuratively – through our food,” she explained.

Royal Perks members who spend $5 or more on the Burger King app, website, or in-restaurant using “My Code” (a code required during checkout) at participating locations will be rewarded with cryptocurrencies through November 21 or while prizes last.

“The primary prizing offered is Dogecoin; a few lucky members could receive a full Ethereum or Bitcoin,” Burger King stated in an announcement.

When eligible Royal Perks members make a qualifying purchase, they will be granted a crypto coin. There is a daily restriction of one prize code per eligible Royal Perks member per day. On Monday, there were 20 Bitcoin, 200 Ethereum/Ether, and 2,000,000 Dogecoin reserved for the promotion.

A promotional series of videos titled “How to Crypto with Burger King” was uploaded to YouTube by the fast-food company.

To redeem a coin, customers must first download the Burger King mobile application or visit BK.com and register as a Royal Perks Member. Then, customers can use “My Code” to make a $5 pre-tax purchase on the app, website, or in-restaurant. Then, wait for an email with instructions on how to claim the cryptocurrency in your Robinhood Crypto account via the Robinhood mobile application. Robinhood Crypto users who already have an account do not need to create a new one.
