Official Statement
In his post, Zuckerberg says, “We’re announcing a bunch of new features for WA channels, including voice notes, multiple admins, and sharing status and polls, which is great because I need help settling a debate.”
He then posted a poll asking to settle a debate on which is the best game of all time with options like Civ, GoldenEye 007, Call of Duty, Zelda, Super Mario, Street Fighter, and more.
WhatsApp said in its statement that over 7 billion voice messages are sent on the platform daily. The feature is now available on WhatsApp channels as well, allowing admins to share updates with their followers through voice notes. Speaking of admins, WhatsApp has also increased the number of admins to 16.
WhatsApp Channel admins can now seek the opinions of their channel followers by using the latest poll feature, which was previously available in WhatsApp Groups. The company also added a new Share to Status feature to Channels. Now, followers can share their favorite creators’ or influencers’ channel updates on their WhatsApp statuses.
