5G is currently struggling to take off in Europe and although the situation could change, the world of home networks is ready for yet another revolution.
The Wi-Fi Alliance has just announced that the new Wi-Fi 7 standard will complete the final stages of preparation in early 2024.
The Wi-Fi 7 will debut in the coming months
Wi-Fi 7 can reach a maximum speed of 40 Gbps, more than four times faster than Wi-Fi 6’s maximum speed of 9.6 Gbps.
This is possible thanks to a new 6 GHz frequency band that will join the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, but also due to the fact that Wi-Fi 7 improves some of the connection speed technologies introduced by the Wi-Fi standard -Fi 6 allowing you to experience 4.8x faster speeds.
