Xiaomi has announced the upgrade to Wi-Fi 7 for several of its flagships, in this case, the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones – Xiaomi 13 , Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 14 and the foldable Xiaomi MIX Fold 3.
In short, an important generational leap for Wi-Fi network technology . In particular, the Wi-Fi 7 standard , also known as IEEE 802.11be – Extremely High Throughput (EHT) builds on the foundations of Wi-Fi 6, but brings with it notable advantages.
The new standard operates on all three bands — 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz —, uses channels with a bandwidth of up to 320 MHz and promises theoretical peak data transfer speeds of 46 Gbps . Other supported technologies include 4096-QAM, Multi-RU and Multi-Link Operation (MLO).
Xiaomi 10 Gigabit router and Xiaomi BE7000 Wi -Fi 7 Routers have already started to receive firmware versions that enable support for Wi-Fi 7: for the first, in particular, firmware version 1.1.6 is available.
This is reported by the usual Digital Chat Station on Weibo: the well-known leaker talks about a new Xiaomi smartphone in the pipeline: it would have a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 under the hood and would be destined to take to the stage with the name Redmi K70 Ultra.
The device should include several technical upgrades compared to the current flagship model Redmi K70 Pro, therefore aiming very high. Moreover, it is worth remembering that Redmi K70 Pro already has: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform ; a 6.67-inch TCL C8 OLED display with 2K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 4,000 nits peak brightness, and 3,840 Hz PWM dimming; a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.
