Wellness Check Requested for Tori Bowie

Police were called by a concerned party for a wellness check after Bowie had not been seen or heard from in a few days. They arrived at her home in Orange County, Florida where they found a body in one of the rooms. Police later identified the deceased person as Bowie.

The cause of death is unknown at this time. However, there are no suspicions of foul play.

Frentorish “Tori” Bowie was born and raised in Sand Hill, Florida, and went on to win two state highschool championships. She attended college in southern Mississippi, where she took the long jump NCAA championships at both the indoor and outdoor events in 2011. Her incredible talent took her even further in her twenties, when she brought home 3 medals in the Rio Olympics – silver in the 100-meter dash, bronze in the 200-meter dash and gold as the anchor for the 4×100 relay. These performances on the world stage earned her the title of the “Worlds Fastest Woman.” After winning her three medals at the 2016 games, Mississippi made November 25 “Tori Bowie Day.”

A sprinter and long-jumper, Bowie, will be missed greatly by her family and her community.
