Beyonce proved once again why she’s called Queen Bey. She had her first US leg of her tour last night at the Lincoln Financial Center in Philadelphia. Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour delivered a show befitting of the royalty that is Queen Bey herself.

The Renaissance Tour started off unofficially in Dubai when Beyonce performed a private concert for her Middle-Eastern fans. Then she officially announced the beginning of her comeback in Stockholm last May before heading on to Canada. And finally, she came home to the United States to a packed stadium of fans excited to see her long-awaited concert.

The ensemble was fabulous and everything seemed to be draped in silver. She had pianos, flying horses, dancers dripping in silver outfits, and of course, her own glamorous self complete with long-flowing creme brulee hair behind her.

A Glimpse into Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour

Beyonce started the show by rising from under the stage, seemingly born into it. Her entrance is akin to Venus rising from the waves a fully-formed goddess. She sang her iconic song, “Dangerously In Love” in a black fringed dress decked with glittery crystals. After which, she transitioned to “Flaws and All” followed by “1+1,” a cover of Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down,” and ended her opening act with her song “I Care.”

Each show of her Renaissance Tour will be divided into seven parts, with each segment giving the audience a different mood using her setlist.

She started the second segment called Renaissance with an urban-metro vibe, singing songs like “I’m That Girl,” and “Alien Superstar.” She also surprised fans by adding some elements of her husband Jay-Z’s music as well as Kanye West’s.

The third act, Motherboard, gave the concert a disco-esque jazz feel when she sang “Energy,” and “Break My Soul.” Then the show moved on to the fourth segment, Opulence, with her signature hits like “Formation,” “Run the World,” and “Partition.”

Anointed, the fifth part, had a regal feel to it. She sang hits like “Church Girl,” and “Rather Die Young” in the first part of the divided Anointed segment. For the second part, she had a massive disco ball on stage as she sang, “Plastic Off the Sofa,” “Naughty Girl,” and “Drunk In Love.”

Finally, the concert ended with the last segment Mind Control with songs like “America Has a Problem,” and “Summer Renaissance.”

The concert lasted for over two hours with the 42-year-old diva performing all her hit songs and covers from different albums she has released. She is going to play in a couple more cities in the United States as part of the tour. Her next show is going to be in Nashville on the 15th of July. There are a couple more cities to visit for Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour before finally ending on the 27th of September in New Orleans.
