Britney Spears had the late 90s and early 2000s in her hands. Her career started, as many celebrities do, at Disney. She was a part of the famous Mickey Mouse Club in the 1990s, composed of young, talented individuals managed by Disney.
Because of her auspicious beginnings, she had a massively successful career later outside of Disney. She went on to rule the pop scene of the early 2000s along with Christina Aguilera and other female musicians.
Unfortunately for Britney, life and other people haven’t been too kind to her in the years of her fame. She had been involved in several controversies and ultimately came under the conservatorship of her father. The conservatorship was for extreme situations only. Britney, being in the center of all these scandals, had been vulnerable enough for the courts to grant the conservatorship.
Now, as the world knows, after more than a decade of her being under her father’s control, Britney is finally free from the conservatorship. Her fans had been clamoring for her release for years and were ecstatic that the courts finally set her free.
But the Spears’ family drama does not end there. As predicted, Britney doesn’t want anything to do with her father, who was the benefactor of her conservatorship. But the pop star doesn’t just have issues with him. She also has a rocky relationship with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.
Jamie Lynn followed in her sister’s footsteps and became a musician herself. However, this didn’t do anything to improve their relationship. Britney has spoken out over the years about how Jamie Lynn has allegedly used her to gain an advantage in life. Jamie Lynn, likewise, doesn’t like her sister, often saying that she is always living under Britney’s shadow.
It is this exact sentiment that sent Britney over the edge two days ago. Jamie Lynn said on the ‘Special Forces’ episode she was part of, that she “[struggles] with self-esteem” and, “I’m so proud of her, love her to death, but I don’t know. Sometimes I feel like I don’t really have anything for myself,”
If Jamie Lynn’s words weren’t statement enough of the sisters’ rift, Britney’s Instagram rant sure is. In a now-deleted post, Britney said, “are we gonna say it was hard being my sister????” seemingly in response to Jamie Lynn’s comments. She added, “it honestly blows my mind the hardships you say you have had with having me as your sister… I’m sorry you feel that way but don’t ever poke at my broken foot in a kitchen telling me to go to the doctor because my foot infection might infect your royal children.”
Suffice to say, the Spears sisters won’t be celebrating holidays together anytime soon. Britney is not angry at Jamie Lynn, but at her whole family, whom she constantly said, profited off her years of hard work and money through the conservatorship. But things are looking up for the pop star. She seems to be content with her life at the moment, sans the Instagram rant.
