BYD’s Yuan Plus EV hits major milestone

BYD hit an essential milestone since its 500,000th Yuan Plus EV model rolled off the assembly line recently. Impressively, the automaker succeded in getting this achievement just 19 months after hitting the market. By the time of its debut in China in February 2022, the model had become a global uproar.

Popular as the Atto 3 in overseas markets, the all-electric model is the first A-Class SUV that utilizes BYD’s e-platform 3.0. The same offers enhanced efficiency and safety. When it comes to power figures, the base variant is powered by a 49.92 kWh BYD Blade Battery. Having a front electric motor with 201 hp and 310 Nm peak torque, it gives 430 km of range. The vehicle comes with a starting price tag of 135,800 yuan.

While with the export of over 102,000 Atto 3 models till August 2023. The electric SUV enables to expansion of the brand with respect to new markets. The automaker shipped its first slot of Yuan Plus EVs to Mexico in June, substantially expanding its North American presence.

Additionally, the model has been substantially expanding worldwide after debuting in Columbia last October. This is followed by Brazil and Thailand in November 2022. While, so far, it now has a presence in 55 countries worldwide. Meanwhile, BYD’s Atto 3 was the best-selling EV in Sweden in July, defeating Volkswagen, Tesla, and Volvo.

Also, by consistently overcoming the monthly sales volume by 30,000 units. The automaker achieved an important landmark by assembling its 500,000th Yuan Plus Friday. This is only 19 months after launching. At the same time, the company also came up with Yuan Plus Champion Edition. This has its availability in five trims, with a starting price of 135,800 yuan to 163,800 yuan.

The new trim sums up two new exterior colors, which are Oxygen Blue and Dynamic Purple followed by a luxurious beige interior. Apart from this, various other features have been upgraded. This comprises of 3D transparent panoramic image system, child-friendly mode, and front seat heating and ventilation.
