Bray Wyatt’s Cause of Death Revealed as a Heart Attack

Bray Wyatt's cause of death has been released as a heart attack.

Bray Wyatt's cause of death has been released as a heart attack.

Bray Wyatt, a prominent figure in WWE, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, tragically passed away at the age of 36 due to a heart attack on a Thursday.

According to TMZ’s report, the wrestler was in the midst of a nap when his fiancée, Jojo Offerman, grew concerned upon hearing his alarm persistently sounding about an hour later.

Reportedly, Wyatt was discovered in his bed, unresponsive and turning blue. His girlfriend promptly dialed 911 when she found him, while her mother made an attempt to administer CPR. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

This heartbreaking incident occurred several months after Wyatt had battled and recovered from Covid-19, which had left him with severe heart complications and weakening “the lower part of his heart.” Due to these ongoing health concerns, medical professionals had advised him to carry a heart defibrillator as a precautionary measure.

Only a week before he died, Rotunda was hospitalized for heart related issues. He had an appointment with his doctors the morning he died, where he was advised to wear an external defibrillator — a device designed to treat people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

Police did locate the external defibrillator in his car, which was parked in the driveway at the time of his death – though it cannot be confirmed that the device would have saved his life had he been wearing it.

Tributes from friends and co-workers continued to pour in in the week since Rotunda’s passing, with twitter flooded with messages for him and his family, and with sports events around the world paying homage to the athlete and his impact on the sport of wrestling.

Support has poured in from around the world for Wyatt’s family.

Arsenal Football Team played his theme song as a tribute during their match with Fullham that ended in a 2-2 draw.
