Dylan Sprouse tied the knot with his girlfriend Barbara Palvin in a private wedding in Hungary on 15th July 2023. The couple announced their engagement after being in a relationship for five years.
The Suite Life Movie star, 30, and Hungarian model, 29, held their wedding ceremony in a church outside Budapest where Palvin was born and raised. Family members including Cole Sprouse, Dylan’s twin brother, and other close friends allegedly attended the wedding.
In a previous joint interview, the couple shared intel on where their wedding would take place. Palvin said, “I’m excited to show that side of me and introduce my culture, the places I grew up, and the places I went to. I feel like a lot of people will learn even more about me this way. I know there was no way we would have not had a wedding in Hungary because my parents would have killed me.”
Although the couple hasn’t released any official photos for the public, according to the photos published by a local outlet Bors Online, and from several other fan-taken pictures, the lovebirds appeared happy as they celebrated their marriage.
Dylan and Barbara’s Engagement
The couple got engaged in September 2022 and confirmed their engagement in a V Magazine interview conducted by Sprouse’s twin brother Cole in June. They have always been very private.
During the interview, Dylan told the publication that “We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement.”
He added, “What we wanted to do with Stephen [Gan] and the V team is make something that was kind of tongue-in-cheek about the nature of private versus public. We’re playing with the idea of perception.”
Palvin mentioned that they were planning to release their engagement news to the public when they felt ready.
“When some people leaked the information that we got engaged, our PR team was like, ‘Hey, so you guys should do maybe a post about it or talk to this magazine or talk to that magazine,’” she reminisced. “That really annoyed me because I knew we were building this story up. So, I’m very happy that we ended up doing it our way.”
How Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Met
Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin met at a party in New York in 2017 and started dating in 2018. In an interview with W magazine, the couple revealed that they were instantly drawn to each other when they met.
Their relationship was made public through Palvin’s Instagram account where she posted a picture featuring both Dylan and herself as she wished him a happy birthday.
“Even though it’s your birthday I feel I just got the biggest present of all,” Palvin expressed her delight on his birthday alongside a photo of herself winking playfully with Sprouse. “Happy Birthday Boss Baby 🎂.”
After the duo confirmed their relationship, Palvin and Sprouse shared the story of their first date and first kiss in a charming Vogue video the following year. According to Sprouse, during their initial date in China, he was surprised to witness Palvin devouring one-third of his burrito in a single bite. Playfully, he joked, “That was our first kiss, right after you devoured a third of my burrito!”
Palvin playfully responded, reminding him that they had been in contact for months through conversations and texts. She took the initiative and humorously recalled asking Sprouse, “Are you going to kiss me or what?”
The duo also disclosed their wedding plans, revealing that they intended to tie the knot in Hungary—Palvin’s home country.
