Facebook and Instagram to get AI-based features

Artificial intelligence is finding more and more space in the field of mobile technology and social networks and Meta is obviously also paying more and more attention to the potential that AI solutions are able to guarantee.

In recent days the social network giant has confirmed that it has decided to invest even more resources in generative artificial intelligence and Tom Alison , head of Facebook , provided some interesting details on the company’s programs until to 2026.

In particular, Tom Alison spoke of a roadmap that by 2026 should lead the social giant to develop an artificial intelligence model that can power all videos, including Reels and longer content.

Meta currently relies on an AI model for each of its individual products while one of its main goals for the years to come is to move to a solution that can fit across its entire ecosystem (Facebook, Instagram , etc. .), all while making user recommendations more engaging.

According to Alison, Reels account for a third of total viewing time on Facebook, meaning two-thirds are based on the social giant’s existing solution, and a unified, more modern approach should be able to simultaneously improve both user experience that profits for the company.
