According to Florida authorities, a man suspected of killing a woman on Wednesday seemingly returned to the crime scene only a few hours later and shot four other people, killing a TV journalist and a  9-year-old girl.

Sheriff John Mina stated that a crew from Spectrum News 13 was in the Pine Hills area just after 4 p.m. reporting on the murder earlier that morning of a young woman who had been found in the area.

Mina said that the suspect in the woman’s killing, Keith Melvin Moses, 19, returned to the scene and fired at the reporter and a photojournalist who were likely standing near a vehicle.

The reporter, identified by his coworkers at Spectrum News 13 early Thursday morning as Dylan Lyons, succumbed to his injuries and died, accordinging to the sheriff. The photojournalist, who has been identified as Jesse Walden, is in critical condition.

The shooter then made his way to a nearby home. Upon entering he shot a woman and her 9-year-old daughter. The girl died from her injuries and her mother has been reported as critically injured.

The shooter was then arrested in the area and is being charged in the initial slaying, Sheriff Mina states. He will also be charged in the four other shootings at a later date.

According to Mina, “The suspect is not saying much right now. It is unclear if he knew they were news media or not.”

It has been stated that there is no known connection between Moses and the mother and the child who were shot on Wednesday afternoon.
