First model of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to release in mid-October

According to previous years’ practice, Qualcomm Snapdragon’s new flagship processor will meet everyone in the autumn, and this year will be no exception.

First model of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to release in mid-October

The current running scores of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 low-frequency engineering machines are not of high reference value. The latest sample self-developed architecture Nuvia2+6 has a large core frequency of 3.6 GHz-4.0 GHz, and the GB6 score is 2.7K± /10K± (expected to refer to Geekbench 6), the theoretical performance improvement of CPU and GPU is still relatively large, and the first model is tentatively scheduled for mid-October.

The B-site up owner @Nonx_ released a running score test video of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 engineering prototype, showing the performance of this engineering machine.

However, the running results of this ES chip are not ideal. It is said that the actual operating frequency of its P core is much lower than the level previously reported, indicating that this engineering sample may have a frequency reduction problem .

AnTuTu shows that the score of this Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 early test engineering machine is around 1.7 million to 1.9 million, but the results are all run at very low frequencies.

Judging from the current news, Xiaomi and OnePlus are expected to be the first to be equipped with this Android flagship chip. As for which brand will be launched, further confirmation is needed. Among them, the OnePlus 13 mobile phone has basically decided to change the design and no longer adopts the family-style hinge design . The latest prototype is a 2K large screen stacker.
