Fisker gives a closer look at its all-electric crossover PEAR with new details and range updates

Post disclosing the budget-friendly crossover earlier this month. Fisker is unwrapping a closer look at the $30,000 all-electric PEAR, along with its new range updates. The company has demonstrated its PEAR EV for the first time at its Product Vision Day before this month. This revelation is done after teasing the crossover for over a year.

The new electric crossover is Fisker’s second all-electric SUV after a little bigger Ocean, which starts giving deliveries in early May. Fisker advertised the PEAR will have a starting price of less than $30,000. They also have been declared the PEAR will be 15 feet smaller than the Ocean SUV. Equipped with a new light steel body structure will also help to reduce the parts needed by 35%.

The automaker also considers the fact that similar improvements will substantially help to minimize the making costs. This ultimately enables the company to offer the vehicle at a lower price tag.

Houdini trunk

To present things all at once, the vehicle is designed to make travel convenient in cities. It is housed with a “Houdini trunk,” enabling owners to load and unload in minimal space.

Instead of folding up like a typical trunk, the vehicle’s lid and glass slide behind the rear bumper beam. It significantly protects it in the event of a rear crash. Additionally, Fisker also activated the Houdini trunk earlier this month at slow speeds. But stated that the production version would move at high speed as well.

Then you have the “Froot,” also known as the frunk. It will be packed with an insulated option in order to help keep food hot or cold. The PEAR will comprise a “Lounge Mode,” the same enabling all seats to fold flat, thereby establishing a spacious lounge space. It comes with an optional 17.1-inch rotating screen, so you can sit and watch a movie or enjoy other entertainment in a relaxing mood.

 Battery pack and range

When it comes to the battery pack and range, the Fisker PEAR SUV will have two battery options, which come with an approximate range of either 180 miles or 320 miles for longer road trips. It will be presented in both rear wheel and AWD variants with 20-inch wheels, while 22-inch is optional one.
