The thermometer integrated into Google Pixel 8 Pro only works to measure the surface temperature of everyday objects but the Mountain View giant has submitted a request to the FDA to take body readings.
New feature coming to the Fitbit app for Google Pixel 8 Pro users
By analyzing the code of version 4.06.7 of the Fitbit app, the 9to5Google team discovered references on how to “use the phone’s thermometer to measure the temperature”, an expression that presumably refers to the Google Pixel 8 Pro and which should appear like a new card in the Today tab.
Choose whether you want to allow Fitbit to save and store body temperature data on your Fitbit profile. After you tap Save, your phone’s thermometer will begin sharing data with Fitbit, including this and all future results, unless you stop sharing.
It appears that measurements taken in the Pixel’s Thermometer app will automatically sync and appear in Fitbit, which requires the update when signed in to your Google account, and users will have the ability to track their temperature over time with Fitbit graphs.
Another string concerns a warning that states that body temperature is measured by a thermometer and reflects the temperature inside the body while skin temperature variation is the fluctuation in temperature measured by the wrist while you sleep.
In addition to the Google Pixel 8 Pro sync integration, the Fitbit app will also allow users to manually log their results into Fitbit.
