Samsung is getting ready to launch the new foldable phones for the Galaxy Unpacked launch event scheduled for July 26. Ahead of the flagship device launch, selfie camera details of the Galaxy S24 smartphone are now leaked by a reliable source GalaxyClub. The South Korean tech giant is looking to improve software parts instead of hardware.

Galaxy S24 Series Camera Details

The recently launched Galaxy S23 Series were the only S-Series flagship device that got a camera change after four years of using a 10MP selfie camera. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones are also expected to include the same 12MP sensor as the 2023 S23 lineup models.

Earlier it was reported that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will ship with the same 200-megapixel Samsung HP2 primary camera and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX564 ultra-wide lens. However, the other two cameras on Galaxy S24 Ultra will reportedly get a minor upgrade from the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to include a 3x telephoto unit that’s capable of 5x zoom.

The phone is tipped to get a 12-megapixel Sony IMX754 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and another 12-megapixel Sony IMX754+ image sensor with 10x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 lineup is expected to run on Android 14-based One UI 6.1/One UI 6.0. Under the hood, the device could be powered by Qualcomm’s unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The South Korean tech giant could start the One UI 6.0 update rollout based on Android 14 in October of this year. Note that the company will first select the flagship in the first phase. All eligible phones and tablets should receive the Android 14 update before 2023 ends including Galaxy A-Series, Galaxy M-Series, Galaxy F-Series and Galaxy Z Fold Series.
