Google Bard becomes Gemini

Artificial intelligence is continually and rapidly evolving, and tech giants are competing with innovation to excel in this rapidly expanding sector. Google is one of the protagonists of this technological race, and apparently, interesting developments are on the way for what has so far been known as Google Bard , the AI chatbot launched last year as an answer to ChatGPT.

Google is preparing a major redesign of Google Bard

According to recently leaked rumors, Google is preparing a major restyling of its virtual assistant, with a complete rebranding and the addition of new features. First of all, the name should change: Bard, which is also about to be integrated into the Google Messages app , should make room for Gemini , a name more in line with the AI system on which it is based, called Gemini, designed from the beginning to be multimodal, meaning it can understand and operate seamlessly across text, code, audio, images, and video.

But the news is not limited to the rebranding: it would seem that, according to what is reported in the leaked changelog (which you can find below), starting from February 7th Gemini will in fact boast a so-called Advanced level , accessible via subscription , which will guarantee enhanced capabilities based on the model Gemini Ultra in its 1.0 version, which will further enhance the capabilities of the Gemini Pro model.

The user experience will be enriched through a new dedicated Android app , which will integrate Gemini with Google services such as Search, Maps and YouTube.

The smartphone application will initially be available only in English and only on devices from the Pixel family and the Samsung Galaxy S24 series , before expanding to other languages and devices over the following weeks.
