Google’s latest smartphone the Pixel 8 Pro was launched in October 2023. Now it seems that, as the December feature drop approaches, users who own a Google Pixel 8 Pro can finally use the functions shown by the company but not yet available.

According to the latest information, Google Pixel 8 Pro smartphone users to receive Video Boost and Zoom Enhance with the December feature drop.
During the presentation event of the brand’s current flagship family, the company announced the future availability of some functions linked to the use of computational artificial intelligence.
Video Boost is a feature that thanks to the use of artificial intelligence will apply a whole series of adjustments and improvements to the user’s videos, from color to lighting and graininess; Pixel 8 Pro cannot manage these operations completely independently, which is why the Video Boost feature requires support from the company’s servers to work.
The user will have to upload to Google Photos, through automatic media uploading or manually, the videos he wants to improve and here the Google servers will process every single frame of the movie, returning to the user a file with better characteristics than the original.
The exact functioning of Video Boost is not yet clear, but according to what was found in the code mentioned above the functionality should allow the user to choose which format to download the improved video in , the options will be AVC (good for compatibility with many systems ) or HEVC (lesser compatibility, but better file size/quality ratio), although it cannot be ruled out that further options may be implemented.
