Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde were hot and heavy for a while. But they called it quits in November of 2022. Recently, Harry was spotted in public with an ‘Olivia’ tattoo. What’s the deal?
Harry Styles Spotted with Olivia Tattoo
Styles was spotted with the tattoo while on a boat trip with friends in Bolsena, Italy on July 28. The tattoo is on his thigh. The press reached out to him for comment, but he did not respond.
Styles was on the boat with Late Late Show host James Corden, his wife Julia Cary, Victoria’s Secret model Jacquelyn Jablonski, and her reported partner Xander Ritz.
Several fans speculated on the meaning of Styles’ tattoo. Some think it may be a tribute to his former flame. Others suggested it may be a reference to the One Direction 2015 song “Olivia” which Styles wrote with songwriters Julian Bunetta and John Ryan and not his former bandmates.
Harry and Olivia’s Relationship
Harry, 29, and Olivia, 39, started their relationship when they worked together on the movie Don’t Worry Darling. Harry starred in the movie. Olivia was the director. They confirmed their relationship when they attended the wedding of Harry’s manager, Jeffrey Azoff, in January 2021.
They announced their breakup in November of 2022. They did not provide reasons for the split, but sources speculated that it was likely career related.
“He’s still touring and is now going abroad. She is focusing on her kids and her work in L.A. It’s a very amicable decision.”
The source went on to say that they are still “very, very close friends” but “Right now, they have different priorities that are keeping them apart.”
“They’ve had ups and downs throughout the relationship. The public pressure on them has been difficult,” another insider revealed.
Close friends also stated that Olivia had trouble getting past the breakup. She allegedly tried to “move on” by taking a girl’s trip.
“Olivia thought going on vacation would allow her to decompress. The breakup has been difficult for Olivia. They had some issues, but Olivia thought they were gonna work through it all. She is disappointed. It’s just a tricky situation though.”
Was it Homewrecking?
Fans speculated that Olivia may have still been with then fiancé Jason Sudeikis when she became romantically involved with Harry Styles. But she shot down those rumors as “complete horsesh*t” in a Vanity Fair interview.
“Our relationship was over long before I met Harry. Like any relationship that ends, it didn’t end overnight. Unfortunately, Jason and I had a very bumpy road, and we officially dissolved the relationship at the beginning of the pandemic,” she said.
“We were raising two kids during the lockdown, so we co-parented through that time. Once it became clear that cohabitating was no longer beneficial for the children, it became the responsible thing to NOT, because we could be better parents as friends who lived in different houses.”
Olivia has two children with Sudeikis, Otis and Daisy. She has their names tattooed on her arms. No Harry tattoos though!
