Huawei set to re-enter mid-range 5G phone market

Huawei Mate 60 Pro official

Huawei is looking to reveal its new mid-range 5G phone as soon as October 2023. For your information, since 2019, the U.S. has restricted Huawei’s access to chipmaking tools essential for producing the most advanced handset models, with the company only able to launch limited batches of 5G models using stockpiled chips.

Huawei to comeback in 5G segment

Huawei might release a new Nova phone with 5G in October or November, according to the IT Times. The source got this information from people who make the parts for phones.

A short while ago, Huawei quietly launched the Mate 60 Pro phone without much advertising. Experts say it uses a 7-nanometer chip made in China and can connect to 5G networks. This is a big deal because it shows China is making progress in creating its own computer chips.

Huawei’s last Nova model is constrained to 4G and retails for around 2,400 yuan($329)domestically, while the Mate 60 Pro, released in limited numbers so far, retails for 6,999 yuan.
