Instagram will allow you to share profiles in Stories

2023 was a year full of innovations for Instagram – the most important one was obviously the Threads platform, now in direct competition with Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) -, but it seems that Meta is already preparing something new and interesting for the next year: a new function has just been spotted which consists of sharing Instagram profiles in Stories .

Instagram Stories to promote profiles

The news in question was spotted by the well-known leaker Alessandro Paluzzi and promptly reported on X. The Instagram team is working on the function that will allow you to share your own or someone else’s profile in stories . The envisaged mechanism is simple and intuitive: similar to the “Add to story” function that all users already know very well, it will be possible to add an entire profile to the story, so as to be able to invite your followers to visit it and possibly follow it.

This is a rather interesting addition for influencers and for all those who want to promote their own — or others’ — other profiles. Consider the example of a newly created work page that you want to make known to your followers: thanks to the new function, all you have to do is share it in stories and invite them to take a look. As you can see from the screenshot shared below, when creating the story, Instagram will use a dedicated layout, with a convenient View Profile button in plain sight.

At present, sharing profiles in Stories is still in development, nor can we make any predictions about Instagram’s release plans. Certainly, with 2023 now nearing its end, we will talk about it again in 2024, perhaps already in the early stages.

How to update the Instagram app

While waiting to find out more, you can download the latest version of the Instagram app for Android.

Instagram allows you to add AI-generated backgrounds

Instagram has launched a new AI-powered generative tool called “Background” that lets you create a new image in the background of your Story.

The new tool appears when you upload or capture content for your Story and is located next to existing icons at the top of the screen represented by a person icon with a rectangular frame.

To generate the background, just describe the image you have in mind in the appropriate text box and the artificial intelligence will do the magic, however the story will be tagged by Instagram with the feature logo.
