Apple has recently released the 4th beta version of iOS 17 to developers, and the code found on the latest beta version showcased the functionality for the rumored Action button on the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max. This button could give you nine different choices, and the best part is you can personalize and assign them to do different things.

iPhone 15 Pro Action Button Features

Accessibility: This option will allow you to access features such as VoiceOver, Zoom, AssistiveTouch, and more.

Shortcuts: With this option, you can run any shortcut they have created or downloaded from the Shortcuts app, such as sending a message, playing a playlist, or controlling smart home devices.

Silent Mode: Similar to how the switch works on current ‌iPhone‌ models, this option would let users toggle silent mode on or off, which would mute or unmute the ringer and alerts.

Camera: This action will help users to open the Camera app and/or take a photo or video with a single press of the Action button.

Flashlight: Flashlight-related action coming for easy toggle.

Focus: This option should let users activate or deactivate a Focus mode.

Magnifier: This option would presumably let users activate the Magnifier app to use the ‌iPhone‌’s camera as a magnifying glass to zoom in on small text or objects.

Translate: This option could let users launch the Translate app and start a conversation or text translation with a single press of the Action button.

Voice Memos: This option would let users start or stop recording a voice memo with the Voice Memos app.

The Action button is like a button found on the Apple Watch Ultra, but it will have more options specifically for the iPhone. It’s expected to replace the Ring/Silent switch on the newer Pro iPhone models. With this button, you can do stuff quickly, like accessing different functions and settings without having to unlock your phone or open any apps. It’s all about making things easier and more convenient for you!

0-Bezel iPhone is coming in the future

Meanwhile, recently we reported that the iPhone maker is currently in talks with South Korean display suppliers, Samsung and LG Displays, to work on this new technology. The main challenge is figuring out how to bend all the circuits in the screen’s bezel. They also need to address antenna interference and find a way to protect the screen from moisture and oxygen.
