Is Kevin Costner Finished With Yellowstone?

Word on the street is that Kevin Costner may be done with his role as John Dutton on the hit series western ‘Yellowstone’, but that another Oscar-winning actor may be taking his place.

The current rumor is that Matthew McConaughey will be replacing Costner. If that were to
happen, Taylor Sheridan, the show’s co-creator, would wrap up the series with Costner and
relaunch it with McConaughey in the lead role.

Costner is reported to be leaving due to “disagreements over shooting schedules”, which has negatively affected morale among cast members.

However, the entire scenario should be taken with a grain of salt, according to Paramount.

“We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone, and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come. Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner,” a Paramount Network spokesperson told the media.

Additionally, neither Paramount, Sheridan, or McConaughey have confirmed rumors of Costner leaving the series.

Yellowstone, which follows the lives of the Montana ranch family, has gotten so popular that it launched three spin-offs, “1883”, “1932” and the upcoming “6666”.

The limited 1883 limited prequel series, which starred Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, was a hit.
1923 which stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren and follows the Dutton Dynasty through
Prohibition and the Great Depression, was just renewed for a second season.
