Lenovo’s ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 notebook was leaked, and the tipster TechnicallyLog1 posted a picture of the new product, showing that the machine will be equipped with Ryzen 8040 and the upcoming Ryzen 8050 APU.
Other specifications of the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 laptop include up to 64GB DDR5 memory, faster Wi-Fi, 14-inch 400-nit brightness display and 85% screen-to-body ratio. This laptop mainly highlights its serviceability, while reducing energy consumption and providing longer battery life.
According to AMD’s official Ryzen AI roadmap previously announced, the next generation AMD Ryzen Strix Point APU will be released in 2024 , equipped with Zen5 CPU and RDNA3+ GPU, as well as the new XDNA 2 AI NPU.
This series will include Strix Point Mono and Strix Point Halo , both of which are Ryzen 8050 APUs. However, the Strix Point Mono chip will offer a monolithic design that mixes Zen 5 and Zen 5C cores, while the higher-end Strix Point Halo chip will use a small chip design using only Zen 5 cores.
