Meghan Markle’s spokesperson made a statement after speculation emerged about the reason she could not attend King Charles III’s upcoming coronation.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has expressed her desire to correct the narrative surrounding her and her husband’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In a letter sent to her father-in-law, King Charles III, Meghan expressed her concerns over the issue of unconscious bias within the royal family.

The Telegraph reported on April 21st that the Duchess of Sussex had communicated to King Charles her apprehensions regarding the conversations that she and Prince Harry had with a member of the royal family.

In her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan disclosed that Prince Harry had engaged in “several conversations” with a member of the royal family about the potential skin color of their first child.

According to The Telegraph, it was speculated that Meghan’s alleged communication with King Charles regarding issues of unconscious bias within the royal family might have influenced her decision to skip the upcoming coronation ceremony.

However, Meghan’s spokesperson recently addressed this speculation, stating that the Duchess is currently focused on her present life and not dwelling on correspondence from two years ago regarding conversations that took place four years ago.

The spokesperson further dismissed any suggestion that Meghan’s decision to skip the coronation had anything to do with the alleged communication with King Charles, labeling such claims as false and ridiculous.

Meghan’s spokesperson also called for an end to the “exhausting circus” created by the tabloid media and various royal correspondents regarding her decision not to attend the upcoming coronation ceremony.

The speculation about Meghan’s absence from the ceremony emerged after a representative for the couple confirmed that Harry would attend the event, while Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet, would stay back in California.

Buckingham Palace also confirmed Harry’s attendance, with the ceremony coinciding with Archie’s fourth birthday on May 6th.

The royal family’s upcoming coronation ceremony has garnered much attention, with notable absences from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Despite their absence, the couple still made an appearance in the souvenir program, which hit newsstands in the U.K. on April 17th.

The program featured a portrait of King Charles in celebration of his 70th birthday, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex posing alongside the monarch, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Prince George, 9, will play a significant role in the event, serving as one of the eight Pages of Honour who will walk in the procession and carry the robes inside Westminster Abbey. Joining him in this role are Camilla’s grandchildren, Freddy Parker Bowles, Gus Lopes, and Louis Lopes, as well as her great-nephew Arthur Elliot.

The coronation is set to reflect the monarch’s role in the modern era while maintaining longstanding traditions and pageantry. The event is a testament to the rich history and cultural significance of the British monarchy and is sure to be a spectacle that will captivate the world’s attention.
