Meta-owned Instagram introduces the new application Threads to compete with the popular application Twitter. Threads focus on sharing photos, videos, messages, and status updates with a select group of people from a user’s Instagram followers.
The launch of this new application significant challenge to Elon Musk. Instagram officially confirmed the changelog and features of the all-new Threads app. In the official press release, the company showcases the functionality of the new application whether you’re a creator or a casual poster, Threads will offer you a new, separate space for real-time updates and public conversations.
Threads also include private conversations that can be initiated with one or multiple friends. Users can create Threads based on specific topics, or events, or simply as a means to keep in touch with a specific group of individuals. This feature aims to provide a more focused and dedicated space for meaningful interactions among close friends.
When opening the app, it immediately opens the dashboard and the landing page similar to Twitter for the latest posts from the accounts that you have already followed on Instagram. Users can send these media files directly to their Threads or add them to their Instagram Stories, making it easy to share spontaneous moments with chosen friends or a broader audience.
How to Join Instagram Threads App? (Threads.net)
To start using Threads, first, you need your Instagram account login. When you log in, your Instagram username and password will be carried over to Threads, and you have the option to customize your profile specifically for the app.
For users who are under 16 years old (or under 18 in certain countries), joining Threads automatically sets their profile to private. You can choose to follow the same accounts you do on Instagram and discover new users who share similar interests. Threads also support the core accessibility features available on Instagram, such as screen reader support and AI-generated image descriptions.
In Threads, the feed will showcase the latest threads posted by the people you follow, along with recommended content from new creators. Each post can contain up to 500 characters, as well as links, photos, and videos up to 5 minutes long – says Instagram.
