Metra Crash in Chicago’s Far South Side, 2 Injuries Reported 

Two people were seriously injured after a Chicago train hit a car on the city’s far South Side

A train and car collided on the far South Side of Chicago on Sunday afternoon at around 1:30.

According to FOX 32, a Metra spokesperson said that outbound Rock Island train #11 crashed into a car at West 111th Street near Marshfield Avenue.

“Train #113, scheduled to arrive in Joliet at 2:00 PM, may be operating with an extensive delay due to a vehicle struck by the train,” Metra reported.

The Metra spokesperson also mentioned that several people were injured in the incident. So far, no deaths have been reported. Chicago police say two people were seriously injured due to the crash and were transported to Christ Hospital.

The cause of the collision is being investigated.
