Stranger Things, the popular sci-fi/horror series that has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide, is sadly coming to a close after five successful seasons. However, fans of the show can take solace in the fact that plans are reportedly underway for a spin-off movie.

While the news of a spin-off is certainly exciting, it seems that one of the show’s most beloved stars, Millie Bobby Brown, may not be involved. According to reports in The Daily Mail and The Sun, Brown was allegedly offered a whopping £10 million (equivalent to approximately $12.2 million) to star in the movie but turned it down to pursue other opportunities in her career.

“I’m definitely ready to wrap up,” Brown told Seventeen earlier this month. “I feel like there’s a lot of the story that’s been told now, and we know of it; it’s been in our lives for a very long time. But I’m very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open new ones. I’m able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture. But I’m really grateful [for that show].”

Brown stated that her current priority is her education, saying, “With my job being so emotional, it’s really nice to just be able to detach from that and learn about something that’s really interesting for me. I’m really aware of how privileged I am to have access to education and learn more about what I want to learn about, and then help others in retrieving that education in communities and areas where young people aren’t able to access curriculums. It’s just a circle that keeps giving.”

Millie Brown, who gained international fame for portraying the telekinetic Eleven in Stranger Things, has already made a name for herself as a talented actress. In addition to her work on the hit Netflix series, she has appeared in films such as Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Enola Holmes and has been cast in upcoming projects such as the film adaptation of the graphic novel The Electric State.
