New features for Facebook Messenger

Facebook has officially announced the start of the release of a substantial update for Facebook Messenger, the branch of the popular social network intended for instant messaging.

The update includes new features (some borrowed from WhatsApp ) and, in general, aims to improve the user experience by adding many new connection and sharing possibilities. Let’s find out all the details.

Facebook Messenger is about to receive many new features

Facebook has announced the release of a new update that will bring many new features that will be implemented in the coming weeks on the Facebook Messenger app, thus attempting a new relaunch for the messaging app.

One of the most interesting new features coming to Facebook Messenger is something that Meta already implemented last summer in WhatsApp.

When the user tries to share an image from their smartphone’s gallery, in Messenger they will find the new HD switch that will allow them to send the photo (or photos, since multiple selection is supported) without quality loss.

Another interesting innovation concerns the possibility of sending large files (up to 100 MB) , a new option added to the ” + ” button present within conversations. Supported files include PDFs, Word and Excel files, and other popular formats .

The new Facebook Messenger update brings with it something new designed for group conversations which are enriched with shared albums , designed to collect all the photos and/or videos of an important event in a single album.

To create an album, simply select the photos to share and tap on the “Create album” button (it is also possible to add other photos to existing albums). Created albums can be renamed. All users will be able to view, add, delete and download photos/videos from the album.

The latest innovation is designed to speed up the connection with other people to add on Facebook Messenger (in reality it is something that we already have on other apps in the Meta group), thanks to the addition of a shareable and scannable QR code.
