During the Christmas season, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman transformed into “Santa Claus” and posted a message on his X platform account to solicit netizens’ wishes and expectations for OpenAI in 2024: ” What features do you hope to see added or fixed in OpenAI next year?”
This post was sent at 3:15 a.m. on December 24. Two minutes later, Altman seemed to be “scared” and sent another tweet: “Wow, I made a wish for general artificial intelligence in the first two minutes. There’s been a lot more outcry (for AGI) than I expected . I’m sorry to disappoint, but I don’t think we’re going to get there next year…”
Altman announced the projects most requested by users as follows:
- AGI (please be patient)
- GPT-5
- Voice mode performs better
- Higher rate limit
- More powerful GPTs
- Better reasoning skills
- Controlling arousal/behavior levels
- Video function
- Personalization
- Better browsing experience
- “Log in with OpenAI account”
- Open source
OpenAI quietly revised its “core values” list around October this year to include artificial general intelligence (AGI), which was not explicitly listed before, and ranked it at the top .
