In Q4 2023, Redmi launched the smartphones of the Redmi K70 series in China. The standard and Pro variants were equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Gen 3 processors respectively.
Redmi K80 series to get Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and larger battery
In fact, for the moment, we are only talking about Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro , while the possible successor to Redmi K70E could change family and move to the Redmi Note series; in any case, the leaker shared some improvements that should be made by the company compared to previous generation smartphones.
First of all, it seems that Redmi intends to increase the capacity of the batteries mounted on the two devices, Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro were both equipped with 5,000 mAh modules, while the successors seem to be able to count on 500 mAh more, thus arriving boasting 5,500 mAh batteries .
As regards the alleged second improvement, it seems that the company intends to adopt the latest processor (not yet presented but already the protagonist of some rumors ) from Qualcomm , namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4: the chipset in question, however, should be used exclusively for the Pro variant, while the classic one could be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, similar to what already happened with Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro which boasted the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Gen 3 respectively.
